So, in case you're reading this and for some reason haven't read Post Change Cocoons, which can be found on my page or in the sidebar, basically I've got some ideas I'd like to share in hopes that others will want to write them and spread them around.
When Frenemies aired, I realized that Chrysalis made the first changeling cocoon since season six's finale, and that got me thinking. Since the changelings are good now, what if instead of using their cocoons to capture ponies and creatures, they use their cocoons to provide a service of sorts. From what we've seen of the cocoons when they were used to capture, they put their occupants in a sleepy state. So what if that effect was used in a different way?
Provided they're marketed correctly and ponies aren't scared anymore, changelings could:
- sell the cocooning experience as a spa treatment since sleep is relaxing, and spas are all about relaxing
- sell the cocooning experience as a therapy remedy for sleep issues like insomnia and such
- sell the cocooning experience as a trial for those who just want to give cocoons a try
Those are just ideas off the top of my head, and they can be done in several ways too. Like for the spa treatment, set up a room in an existing spa for that specifically or have their own cocoon spa building. Then for the therapy and the trial services, they could be done in their own building like the spa, or those could be booked at home.
I'm sure there are other ideas for how to use cocoons and several ways of providing those, but I can't think of anything. Anyway, I think this could become a new thing in fanfic, and it'd be awesome to see such a formerly evil concept be turned around into something good.
