Journal Entry - Volume 2 - Chapter 14 · 2:06am May 27th, 2019

Dear Journal,

Well, somehow we all made it out of there! No one was badly hurt or killed somehow! Guardian angels must have been working overtime! Twilight’s friends and I, Derpy, Ember and Mythic Honor sat around a campfire with the leader of the soldiers. Turns out, that was none other than one of Equestria’s princesses! She introduced herself as Princess Cadance and we talked for some time! Mostly about the future of the Vile Tribe and Ember’s case. I was able to keep her out of prison, but I had to vow I would be responsible for her!

The princess asked where Twilight was. Someone said she wanted to be alone and had made her way away from the rest of the townsponies. I decided now was as good a time as any to face her about… what she had done to me! Not knowing exactly what I was going to say to her, I just started walking in the direction of a small campfire further away from the others. While I wasn’t sure how… exactly I was going to react to being alone with the one who banished me, I was certain it had to be done.

Twilight looked… I don’t know. It’s really hard to describe! Sad… remorseful… scared… self-loathing… and a hundred other things all at once! She was… honestly afraid of her punishment to come! But she still stayed there to take it. I get the feeling Twilight WANTED me to… slap her around a bit! To hurt her, like she hurt me! While she certainly deserved it, I… I couldn’t do that to her! So instead I sat down, told her to come over to me and… petted her. I’ve found that the ponies here are similar to certain small creatures back home. They like to be stroked and… and loved! It relaxes them! Twilight was no exception. She couldn’t understand why I wasn’t angry at her, as she lay there on the ground limply. And frankly, I didn’t really understand it either.

Upon Twilight and I returning to the fire with the others, I was informed that I could ask for anything I wanted in exchange for saving Twilight’s life earlier. Handing me a scroll, I wrote down my heart’s desire. She looked it over and asked if I was sure! I nodded. Signing her name, the wish was granted. Full citizenship in Equestria!

I… think I’ve made my peace with the fact that there probably isn’t any way back to Earth for me. Equestria is my home now. And… and that’s okay! I’ve made quite a few very good friends here! Friends that are willing to go to Hell and back for me apparently! While I’ll miss a few people back on Earth, there isn’t really any point in thinking about my return trip… that isn’t going to happen.

To them… I wish you well. Goodbye… my friends…

Friendship is forgiving those who wrong you when they ask for it.
