Commander TwentyNeighnteen: Psychic Compost Decklist · 8:13pm May 12th, 2019
Been a while since I've done one of these, eh?
Anyway, it's taken me a while to get this together, but I've finally managed to build the full decklist for Psychic Compost, the third of the commander sets I've designed. As usual, a * next to a card denotes an entirely new card, which will be shown below the decklist.
Be warned that this does contain some mild spoilers for possible MLPlaneswalker installments in the future, and you'll see why after the page break.

New Cards:
Wallflower, the Forgotten 1BGU
Legendary Planeswalker — Wallflower
+1: Put the top three cards of your library into your graveyard. If at least one of them is a permanent card, create a 0/1 green Plant creature token with defender.
-2: Exile target permanent card in your graveyard or target instant or sorcery card in an opponent’s graveyard. Until the end of your next turn, you may play that card.
-7: Choose up to one card from each player’s graveyard. Put all land cards chosen this way onto the battlefield under your control, then cast all nonland cards chosen this way without paying their mana costs.
Wallflower, the Forgotten can be your commander.
3
Trosis, Simic Outcast 3GU
Legendary Creature — Zombie Vedalken
XB, T: Exile target creature card from a graveyard with converted mana cost X. Create a token that’s a copy of it, except it’s a green Ooze.
When Trosis, Simic Outcast leaves the battlefield, destroy all Ooze tokens, then return all cards exiled with Trosis to their owners’ hands.
“Why limit inquiry to matters of life when death has such grand possibilities?”
2/4
Groza Morz, Mindmulcher BGU
Legendary Creature — Troll
Defender, hexproof
Whenever a creature you control with defender is dealt combat damage, each player puts that many cards from the top of their library into their graveyard.
“Build ‘em filth walls high enough, and people’s brains start rottin’ from the smell.”
0/5
Underworld Sentinel 2BB
Creature — Hound (Rare)
Deathtouch, lifelink, defender
Whenever one or more creature cards leave a graveyard, if Underworld Sentinel isn’t monstrous, put a +1/+1 counter on it and it becomes monstrous.
As long as Underworld Sentinel is monstrous, it can attack as though it didn’t have defender.
3/3
Rot Harvester 2
Artifact (Uncommon)
If a spell or ability an opponent controls would exile a card from your graveyard, put that card on the bottom of your library instead.
Sacrifice Rot Harvester: Draw a card.
“To claim death is the opposite of life is the height of arrogance. It is only through death that life finds sustenance.”
— Ezoc, Golgari rot farmer
Dementia Bloom 1GU
Enchantment (Rare)
At the beginning of each player’s upkeep, that player puts the top two cards of their library into their graveyard.
At the beginning of your precombat main phase, you may exile target land card from a graveyard. If you do, add one mana of any color. Until end of turn, you don’t lose that mana as steps or phases end.
The most treasured memories make the best fertilizer.
Mnemonic Squelch 1UB
Instant (Uncommon)
Counter target instant or sorcery spell an opponent controls, then you and that player each reveal the top card of your library. If both the revealed cards have the same converted mana cost, return Mnemonic Squelch to its owner’s hand. Then put each card revealed this way into its owner’s graveyard.
“Wait, what was that spell again?”
Necrotic Bargain 3B
Sorcery (Rare)
Target opponent may exile up to three cards from your graveyard. If they do, put a creature card from that player’s graveyard onto the battlefield under your control. Otherwise, return a creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield.
A deathly exchange of corpses.
Underrealm Genesis XBGG
Sorcery (Rare)
Exile all cards from target player's graveyard in a face-down pile, then shuffle that pile. Reveal the top X cards of that pile. You may put any number of permanent cards with converted mana cost X or less from among them onto the battlefield under your control. Then put all other cards in that pile that weren't put onto the battlefield into their owner's graveyard.
The double strike on Underworld Sentinel is a really hard stretch, but I love the triggered monstrosity for both flavor and novelty.
So... what happens if you counter a spell you control with Mnemonic Squelch? I know it's not terribly likely, it may come up with redirection or spell theft. You might want to add an "an opponent controls" rider.
The other new cards are fascinating designs. Narrow focus at times, but it is a prebuilt Commander deck.
5057772
Fair point, done.
Looking good, but as FanOfMostEverything mentioned the Underworld Sentinel is a rather big stretch.
Rot Harvester might be my favourite of the bunch.
5057793
I mostly went with Double Strike because the creature is supposed to have two heads, but looking at it now, it does look unfitting for mono-black. Since both you and 5057772 have given feedback, I've tweaked the card a bit: now it has deathtouch and an additional +1/+1 power/toughness.
