Revealing the 300 Contest - What Is It? · 8:25am May 7th, 2019
Alright so I figure now is the time to reveal what this is and why I think you will be excited about it.
When Dead Tree (CLICK THE WORDS!) hits 300 upvotes/likes and 1050 comments, I will be opening submissions.
Submissions are for your idea for a writing prompt. The prompts are to be memories Sunrise has upcoming in chapters 35-45, maybe into 46+ which will symbolize the end of ACT's III and IV as well as the last bits that will be included in Volume 2 of the Book Version.
The prompts may include whatever you like! They need to say the following:
Time Zone - Pre-War? Wasteland Time? Recent?
Who is the one the memory is from? - Sunrise? Another Pony? A plot important character? A random pony? You can even request the insert of an OC of your choice. Other characters in the story from before or even current too!
What is the memory about? - It can be anything, even something relevant to the main or a sub-plot. It can just be a random slice of life from them or a character development moment. I will prefer those that advance characters in the story, even villains whom we haven't focused on too much yet. But give me what you want to learn about and we'll include it!
Entry has 2 requirements:
1. A New Comment on 2 different chapters between 21-Current Chapter to show you are mostly or starting to catch up to where the story is now. Ask a question or comment on a development, show me your interest.
2. A message to me here or on Discord to record your entry.
Winners (A total of 5) will be receiving both physical prizes, more revealed at 270 upvotes, 280, 290, and 300. Maybe more if we hit 310 and 320 before the contest ends.
In addition to this, your prompt will be included in the story for Sunrise's memories and will also be printed when Volume 2 is published later this year (Between July-October is the range we are looking for V2 Publication).
Pick up your copy of Dead Tree Volume 1 if you want the completely edited non-draft version here.
I will be revealing to everyone else the nature of the contest later this week. But for now, start thinking.
A wonderful idea! I may have already a Funny One...
Hmm... whether to use a potential throwaway joke you had from one of the streams actually in the book, or maybe have something different as a nod to a previous work of yours Fi... that’s a tough one...
