    IN WHICH HAPPY BOXING DAY!
I meant to post while it was still Christmas (CST) but as usual I’m late. I hope my few remaining readers had a lovely holiday! Here’s a song that’s been in my head lately.

Chuu is one of those who, according to her coworkers, really is just a ball of sunshine. Follow me past the jump.

    IN WHICH I LACK BURRITOS
No, really. I haven’t been by my local burrito place in a long time, partly due to my mother, so I haven’t been able to get good inspiration for another Burritoverse story. Sorry. For now, enjoy my favorite J-Pop group NiziU.

    IN WHICH SCREW DEADLINES
Hey, y’all. Been a few months. Whoever reads this, just wanted to show I’m not dead yet. Do you know NMIXX? You should.

Right. Now, where was I? Oh, I’m sure I’ll figure it out below the jump.

IN WHICH I LIED TO YOU (SORRY)
So… Turns out it's been a full year (!) since my last story. I promised a couple stories in between but failed to finish them. But at least I got my annual Mayor Mare story in. Have some Twice as penance.

More past the jump, if you're willing.

IN WHICH I LIVE… SORT OF
Hi. Been awhile. Not sure who's left to read this. I just now realized I accidentally added an "L" on my last 3 posts. Oops. Well, enjoy Sir Elton.

So, after fixing my screw-up, let's get to the meat of why I'm writing, if you'll pass the jump with me.

IN WHICH I SPITBALL BRAIN-BARF
I thought today I might discuss Sonic The Hedgehog. But who knows. Have some TheFatRat.

Now on to other things, if you'll please click the "Read More" button.

I've already said all I needed to about Annie, so no more of that. However, I'm not finished with The Mayor. Ever so slowly, I'm working on the final chapter of this year's Mayor story. I feel awful that I wasn't able to get everything out on January 20th like I normally do. The will to work simply wasn't there. I consider myself fortunate I was able to fart out something for the day.

Maybe part of it is that I've intentionally disengaged myself from social media and therefore politics. I still despise Trump's whole being with the burning passion of a thousand suns. Seriously, even if I agreed with his "policies" (such as they are), nothing can change the fact that he's a genuinely nasty person. He's also a master of projection -- anything negative he says about anyone is true about himself and he's trying to deflect. Republicans in general have long been good at this. But, just like in religion, there's nothing worse than a convert, except perhaps a convert who's also an idiot.

Why do I mention Trump? Well, as y'all know, a pastiche of him is a recurring character in my universes. He's the Chancellor in Equestria and in EQG-world was the leading candidate for Burgermeister (I know it means "mayor", but in this context it's more like Governor, as he'd be in charge of the main city plus the outlying villages) and is now dead thanks to Aria. But that doesn't mean his story is over. Oh no, he's slated to show up again in a flashback story.

Yes, I'm fully aware I wrote his title as "Prime Minister" in several earlier stories. I should go back and fix that, but I'm currently too lazy.

So why would I bring back a dead character? Well, it turned out after I killed him off that he's a perfect addition to my planned final Equestria Girls batch o' stories, which I'm tentatively calling "The Dark Arc" for now. I have no idea how much of it -- if any -- I'll get to before this site dies or I burn out and kill myself, or both. If I give up, I'll reveal whatever won't be fully written here on this blog. From there, y'all can rejoice at not having to read any more of my tripe, or (less likely) despair at what might have been.

I'm under tremendous pressure to create original stories that are not horsewords. I've started, but I've hit roadblocks. I also have zero faith in myself to sell even one short story. My writing style is simply too boring and academic. I don't have the gift of gab where I can stop and ramble on for pages about clothes and relationships (Jane Austen). I'm not good at lingering on violence or sex (several writers on this site), and I have no wit (Douglas Adams).

Still, I've said many times there's nothing I hate more than leaving things hanging, so I'm going to finish the Mayor's story and get it out to you as quickly as I am able. With luck, I might get Octavia's Burrito story out too. Although if I do that, I'll also need to write the final story and finish the Burritoverse for good.

I'm sure by now y'all have seen the trailer for Paramount's Sonic The Hedgehog movie, and everyone can agree it's utter shit (with the possible exception of Jim Carrey). And I'll say it's more than just Sonic's poor character design. They explicitly set the movie in the USA, not any sort of fantasy world, and that hurts it.

I don't know if I could write a better screenplay, but I DO know I could write a better treatment and scenario -- granted, I'd basically rip from Archie Comics & SatAM, hoping Ken Penders doesn't sue (or have the studio pay him off). Ben Hurst would probably be cool with it were he still alive. The real question is whether it would be better to cast Mike Pollock or Jim Cummings as Dr.R, ditto with Roger Craig Smith vs Jaleel White as Sonic.

The splash photo on Anime News Network discussing the trailer actually used an infamous scene from Sonic 2006. Thing is, the Sonic/Elise ship-tease is actually the LEAST offensive thing about that game -- it's a buggy broken mess even without a single cutscene.

Now for that game, I KNOW I could write a better scenario, making Elise a likeable character in the process. And it wouldn't even be that difficult.

I'm sleepy even though I haven't been awake that long. I don't feel more depressed than usual. But maybe I am. I haven't gone outside in awhile, which I know is not good for the body or the mind. Well, I'm doing so tomorrow, so that's worth something.

Anywho, that's all today I guess.

Peace out.

I'm sure you can do it! And hey, even if it doesn't work out, at least you tried. Sometimes you just gotta say 'fuck it, it won't be the best but something is better than nothing.' I'm currently working on chapter 24 of my fanfic and I'm not feeling too confident about it because I kind of rushed a few sections, partly because I'm hardly motivated to write them, but also because I don't know HOW to write them. Creating something from nothing can be difficult.
