    River City Equestria Girls?

Seriously, that's Pinkie Pie on the left, and Rainbow Dash on the right. Tell me I'm wrong.

I will not write a fanfic about the two of them getting into all the fights.

    Probably.

An "I don't have livejournal anymore" sort of update.

    It snowed yesterday.

Which just reminded me how much I don't like winter. It wasn't even a bad snow, just enough of a dusting to linger for a little bit. First one of the season. And I even had the day off from work, due to my schedule, so it's not like I had to do anything ...

    So I didn't.

    Happy Halloween!

So yeah. Despite various distractions (Steam had Darkest Dungeon for UNDER FOUR BUCKS), I've managed to hammer out a ridiculously shippy conclusion to the self indulgent Rarijack story I started.

So that's fun? I gave myself a deadline to finish things on Oct 31, so that's what I did, dangit. Hopefully you guys will enjoy.

Gonna tell you right off the bat, I loved this one. Then again, it's pretty hard to go wrong when Patton Oswalt is guest-starring. Plus, the whole background with Oswalt's daughter playing Windy Sprint and all is super sweet. And again, we have an ep that you could easily slot into an earlier season (well, as long as that season was later than the obvious continuity nods, of course).

Still, I kind of find it funny that the show's getting a little more nuanced in its morals. Like "What to do when your slacker-ass brother comes home and can't hold a job" or "how to navigate between your parents when they're divorced." And in this one, we get: "Get out of the house and watch a baseball game once in awhile or else you'll never get laid, you fucking nerd."

I kid. Mostly.

But yeah. If you've read, like, any of my stories (which is why I'm assuming you're reading this blog right now), you should know I'm a terrible shipper. Not to mention "Rainbow Dash giving terrible relationship advice" is a foolproof recipe for comedy.

Also, while the show danced around it, it sounds like Clear Skies' dad is straight-up dead, referred to in the past tense. Which, well ... dang. I'm going to assume he got eaten by something nasty in the Everfree forest, or something.

But yeah! This episode was a whole lot of fun, and if I get reeeeeally ambitious, I might even write up a short and silly follow-up fic to this ep. Which ... may be a little bit derivative, but still. Better than nothing, right? Though these days I continue to slowly plug away at original fiction of dubious quality. Which I should go work on a little bit right now, come to think of it.

See you next week! Or maybe sooner.

I wonder if her dad wasn't a Wonderbolt, or at least an athletic flyer. (Pegasus with a unicorn mother, after all.) Lots of danger in that trade.

For further tragicomedy, let's just assume he was Short Fuse from the Washouts. Ouch.

I loved this episode. And yeah, Wind Sprint's dad came off as dead to me as well, but I do love the fan theory that her dad is Wind Rider.
