    A Long Overdue Status Update

I have no idea if anyone is going to read this at this point, but let's do it anyway.

I haven’t been very active on this site in recent time. There are a few reasons for that: Quarantine affecting my mental health and draining me of all my energy. A loss of interest in MLP as a whole. Writer's block. And a myriad of other personal issues that make it difficult for me to really do much.

Prologue for my piece! · 1:58am May 2nd, 2019

Remember that Publishable Piece? Well I’ve decided to call it “To Fall From Grace” And this is the prologue for it. Any feedback you can provide would be appreciated.

Enjoy!

In the First moment of true creation, Reality exploded into existence. Beautiful clusters of stars, planets, nebuli, and so much more were flung all across the vast expanse that was newly created space. Like many new borns, however, Reality did not know what it was. It did not know its purpose. It did not know what it could and could not do. The space that Reality now took up was filled with an immeasurable number of incidents of entropy. Uncontrollable creation and destruction, without any form of purpose or cause, plagued existence and threatened to collapse all things in on themselves. Reality needed rules. It needed structure and meaning. And so, in the Second moment of true creation, The Rules of Reality came to be. For a time, these unwritten laws brought the mass instability to a low, or complete halt in some cases. This new found peace and calm facilitated the conditions for a spectacular and awe inspiring event to take place. In what is often referred to as the Third moment of true creation, a strange new concept known as “Life” began to blossom in small far off parts of Reality in so many different ways. Whether this was an act of stability or an act of entropy never became clear. However, this stability did not last forever. Eventually, since there were none able to enforce The Rules of Reality, the entropy returned. As a result, much of the life that had only just begun to flourish was gradually being wiped out, as the conditions and places that they lived in became unendurable. All seemed lost once more. But then, another incredible event took place. Some of the life was managing to grow and survive. Some simply adapted and rode out the periods of instability, but others were somehow fending it off. In these fighting few, Reality had hope. And so, in the Fourth moment of true creation, these fighting few had bestowed upon them great power to combat the madness sweeping Reality. These warriors of stability were known as the “Maintainers of Order”. With great speed and determination, they swept across Reality, crushing any and all sources of disharmony. Life across space rejoiced in this new peace. They could now exist without incident and with out problems. Prosperity was now in abundance. Over time, however, the forms of life across Reality started to feel a strong sense of unrest. Under the Maintainers of Order, there was true peace. But the orderly, structured, controlled, and time sensitive way their days went by weighed down on the many forms of life. Their time in existence felt unsatisfying, devoid of struggle, triumph, misery, or any real sense of accomplishment and self worth. Their existence didn’t feel interesting. And the Maintainers were always watching, going into a fury whenever anything didn’t obey The Rules of Reality, or didn’t go according to plan. A growing sense of contempt for the seemingly oppressive Maintainers began to brew among the many forms of life. And as this black hatred grew and grew, it rose up from the shadowy corners of space and took on a life of its own. Some refer to it as the Fifth moment of true creation. Others refer to it as the First moment of true destruction. Whatever its name may be, it was most certainly the birth of the Instigators of Chaos. These new entities of anarchy set fire to all things that occupied space, raining death and decimation across existence. The Maintainers of Order did their best to fight these new beings, but it was not in their favor. The powers of the Instigators was unlike anything anyone had ever seen. There was no rhyme or reason to what Instigators had what abilities. The strongest and most evil of these embodiments of entropy known only as “Blitz”. The battle went on and on. The Maintainers desperately fought an uphill battle against beings that often outclassed them. Time and time again they found their well constructed lines and thought out plans to be torn to pieces and cast aside by these ferocious, unorganized, animals. Yet, against all odds, fueled only by will-power and bravery, The maintainers held their ground. Slowly pushing back their enemies. After much great sacrifice, they came face-to-face with their greatest challenge: Blitz. The fight to bring the deity of desolation to its knees when on for longer than anyone thought it would. More Maintainers died in this one struggle than many of the former battles combined. Then finally, on the ninth day, in what could only be considered as a complete and total miracle, Blitz finally fell. The warriors rejoiced, the war had been won. But it was a victory that came at great cost. Many warriors had lost their lives in the battle for the order that the Maintainers had desperately wanted. And concerns quickly spread. What if unrest among the common living returned and revived the Instigators? So, to prevent a similar disaster from taking place on such a scale again, the Order Maintainers agreed to let a small number of Chaos Instigators live, letting their mere existence provide the small amount of  entropy that lifeforms desired in their lives. As for Blitz, its body was sent into a Black Hole, and its power was sealed away in the hopes that no one would ever find it. The Order Maintainers returned to busying themselves with maintaining stability, the Chaos Instigators minded their business in the far off landscapes, and Reality finally experienced true lasting peace.
