State of the Author aka I'm NOT dead! · 10:32pm Apr 29th, 2019
Greetings, everyone!
So...heh heh, funny story. Remember when I said that I'd be publishing something back in January or February? And you're all looking at your calendars like "wasn't that two months ago?" Yeah...yeah, me too.
Believe me, I'm not dead, and I'm not completely in writer's block. So, funny story (part 2: the returning reckoning). I've been working on a companion piece to Fine Silk's (eventual) overarching story involving a Crystal Pony. Started it last October, got mostly through it, lost a bit of confidence and had a friend read through it. Based on their feedback, what I initially wrote was not as high of quality as I was hoping, but I appreciated the insight and am working with their suggestions. By my own initiative, I'm rewriting the whole thing from scratch (it's about 25 pages so far), and I'm still planning on other pieces.
Why am I taking so long with this current piece and not publishing something smaller in the mean time? While I'd like to try getting something smaller out, most of my creative thoughts are going into this one piece. It'll be longer than any other pony-related writing I've done so far, and I want to practice writing characters that are more engaging and who you guys might better connect with.
Stuff is still happening, I will go back to writing smaller pieces again along with larger bits. I do have plans, lots of them, and I want to offer something new. I hope that it goes well.
In the meantime, I am open to suggestions for what smaller stories you might want to see involving Fine Silk and her herd. I'll do my best to accommodate. Please let me know what you all think below.
Take your time friend, it's good to hear from you.
