Alrighty! Getting some more options on where to find new episodes as they come out WITHOUT having to deal with scary ads, we are ready to roll with this week’s new episode!

I know about ONE spoiler which is nothing more but a funny screenshot with no context, and that’s fine by me.

Crown of Sibling Supreme… Grading their kids on basic skills as well as morale… Keeping it “friendly” by keeping score… between the already ridiculously themed BBBFF… Wow… I don’t know how to feel about this supposed attempt at parenting. Except it’s awesome to see some actual baby Spike too in those childhood memories for once! Awwww.

Soo… this gonna be an actual episode about Spike’s position in the family beyond being “just Twilight’s assistant”? I’m both intrigued and worried of this. I mean, they did do good with Father Knows Beast to settle it was more of a maternal relation between Twilight and Spike than siblings (or pet and owner, ya’ll thinking it). But before that it has always been very loose concept, with Spike often left out when coming to mentions about Twilight’s family, her relation to them and when they hang out. So… let’s see.

This is the kind of petty Twilight I find ADORABLE. It rare she hits these moments in such a more positive way.

Oh gosh, Celestia’s face. She looks SO done, oh geez I need to know HOW the planning went between her and Luna off screen until the final decision was forced through.

Well, Twilight… not like it’s your first time breaking in, let’s be honest.

Predictions. Luna will betray her sister to aid either Twilight… or Spike who will go completely unnoticed while everyone’s focused on Twilight’s efforts to alive him ONCE in his life to actually be part of this ridiculous sibling rivalry concept. As he’s clearly just standing off screen right now with the focus between Shining and Twilight, after he had let the audience know he always wanted a chance to get the crown himself, while obviously still not even considered part of the contest as he’s “just” an extension of Twilight. Anyways, back to the show.

*Gasping inhale noise* CALLBACK! Ermergersh! The freaking shards of Chryssi’s throne!

Poor bird, but now I really wanna see a pegasus try that just to prove it’s really that good a defense. And also, it would be funny.

Geeeeeeese. He’s right tho, I grew up with geese in the backyard, you CANNOT sneak past them. They are a perfect alarm system unless you know EXACTLY how to handle them (pro tip, make sure to hiss loudly at them FIRST before they can noise at you. It’ll offend them greatly and make them walk away. I still have no idea what I said to them but it worked every time)

Okay, I’m glad the show is self aware enough to KNOW they would OF COURSE realize the Mane Six would all be in on this, all ponies they know the tactics off well. Heh.

Don’t act shocked yourself, as long Shining Armor doesn’t read those detective novels Rarity inhales, that CAN be an interesting course to let her device the master plan. Lemme guess, they are ALL going to be switching roles but still keep to the original idea of the first plan tho…?

Well, does make for a good distraction to let Shining focus on Twilight while she does just nothing, really.

I still have such mixed feeling for Zephyr, I both enjoy his annoying nature at the expense of others while ALSO personally finding him quite annoying. It’s his stick and he rocks it at least. But glad to see family character introduced late in show showing up more than once without having to be Shining Armor.

This is reasonable Twilighting.

THANK YOU for voicing it to show enough self awareness at how much Spike has been left out in most of these family relations things. Although very late in the game still.

I dig the reveal of all these forgotten underground corridors fitting some good fanfic ideas and scenarios. Of course that already existed in plenty, but ya know. Confirmed.

More assured in my prediction that yes Spike is definitely gonna win this rodeo independently from Twilight, just to make a statement.

Also, wow, harsh getting fired that quick. Then again, we don’t know how long he held the position up until this point and that the latest breakage in security on his watch was just the final straw, of course. I need fanfics on his full time as a guard.

AHAHAHAH! YAAAS! THE DOUBLECROSSING!! YAAAAAAAS!

Oh gosh, even better, he planned all this FROM THE START! NOT EVEN JUST A LAST SECOND CHANGE IN LOYALTY! THIS WAS THE PLAN FROM THE START!!

In your face ponies who kept taking Spike for granted his whole life! I mean, geez, even as he stands there in victory Rainbow Dash has to point out he STILL not considered part of the contest somehow, geez. I know that was just a show writer strawman move to make Twilight and Shiny show some appreciation of Spike, ‘cuz they need the prompt for some reason.

Anyways, still hella fun episode. Not the most deep or anything, still fun with its own ideas. Not the most elegant attempt to show Spike appreciation, but it still shows the awareness that Spike has indeed been left out a lot in most things instead of pretending he was ALWAYS along for everything equally as the others.

The ending felt cut short, but considering the amount of scene and split screens used the whole episode, it’s understandable they ran out of time for a more touching ending.

Still, I LIVED for that doublecrossing scene. Best thing of this whole season so far, heh.
