So its finally happened. · 1:28am Apr 7th, 2019
The show is ending. We all knew it wouldn't last forever, but after so long of it seeming to do just that, it seems they're finally running out of ideas. Frankly, considering how short of a time the previous generations of the show lasted, or how long regular shows last, this is quite impressive. Had the age-rating of the show been different, perhaps it might have carried on even further, but if that had been the case, it probably also would have gone in a different direction than it did.
You know, I didn't realize this until I actually sat and thought about it: I stopped watching the actual show during the third season. I saw bits and pieces of episodes from future seasons, but really, with how much people yakked about every episode or drew fanart or made mention of events that happened in episodes and movies in fanfics on the internet as they came out, I got a basic sum-up of every season (and movie) without watching anything.
Part of me not watching at that point stemmed from upbringing: my mother liked to wait until a show's season was over (24 in particular) and would then get it on DVD the following year and binge-watch the season so she'd not need to wait week-to-week in suspense. I decided to do the same thing....and then just kind of forgot (or was too broke) to actually acquire the DvD later. (now I've got my tax return. Guess what I'm going to blow 100+ dollars on after I pay off this month's bills. Sure I could watch it online or via netflix, but 10 years from now I might want to watch them all again and not have Netflix or internet service. If I have the DVDs, then that doesn't matter.)
Now I'm curious how much longer after it's gone this site will last. A previous fan forum I was a member of lasted several years after the source materiel that created it Stopped. Ironically enough, the year after it shut down that same character that led to its founding made a reappearance in Hyrule Warriors.
I'm here till the sight crashes, burns, and then the last wisps of smoke are blown away in the wind, whether I actually get on my arse and write anything else, or not. Love me or hate me, you're stuck with me until then. :)
I try not to think about it too much. Mostly because I makes me think too much. Thinking too much about no more future seasons gets me down in the dumps. I know everyone just wants answers. All I can say is that I’m still gonna be here as well. I’m still gonna try to attend conventions, write new and silly ideas and participate any way I can.
I’ll also be proud to finally be a pioneer in the G5 fandom among many others, both newcomers and veterans!... I hope
