BECAUSE I DID! 5 hours LATE!
Seriously, the Psychology GRE Subject Test is only offered 3 times a year, so WHY was it TODAY!?!?!?!? Were there NO OTHER DATES!?!?!?!?!
Eh....whatever. I think I did good, hope I never need to take it again, and the season premiere was AWESOME! Favorite parts include them pointing out how Celestia and Luna never do anything (and now we know why), to the reveal of our newest enemy, the fact that Twilighting in now my favorite verb, and just...Discord. From his horrible pickle and jam pun, to his weird way of being supportive, to all that happened and his dramatic speech of friendship, I think this is going to be a great final season.
Also, Freedom Shall Ring is now cannon because the tree of harmony is bye-bye...for now. Given the trailer for the season that came out first, I don't think the magical dead tree is as magically dead as it might appear. Or at least the magical glowing hologram version of Twilight might still be around. Maybe. Ehh, we'll find out eventually.
ONWARD TO PONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well twilights castle came from the tree so...
I. Hated. It.
I mean, are you freakin' KIDDING ME, HASBRO?! You bring forth an an evil so ancient it makes even Tirek quake in his boots, who rallies four of the most prominent villains in the show, and then kill off one of them just as soon as you bring him back?!
And Sombra! It's not enough they killed my favorite villain AGAIN but the way they portrayed him! Dear Faust, he sounded like a royal pain not unlike Blueblood with a teenagers voice constantly cracking!! The one thing I liked what they did with him was his misdirection to fool the Mane Six into thinking they beat him only to destroy the Tree and Elements of Harmony.
That's it!
Oh, and if that weren't enough, Discord had to be the typical asinine creep he is by pretending to be fatally injured to motivate the Mane Six into finding the inner Magic of Friendship to defeat Sombra!

His design, his character, it feels like a villains' deu ex machina to me.
But at least they postponed the Royal Sisters' retirement, because honestly! You don't drop that kind of bomb on somepony and expect them to just "sure, I'll take the keys to the city, you go have a wonderful life and leave me to cripple under the burden of ruling an entire kingdom". IMO, it was irresponsible and selfish of them to do that to Twilight without even including her in on their discussion of retiring.
Celestia, you taught and helped raise Twilight, you should KNOW she's not gonna be up for this when you bring it out of nowhere
*sighs* And of course, as I already said, I am FURIOUS that they killed Sombra - Not simply because he's my favorite villain but killing him with the Magic of Friendship seemed... antithesis to what Friendship is supposed to be about! Why couldn't they have.... I dunno, purified him of his evil? Restored him to the way he was before he became corrupted with dark magic?
