I ask because as of this past year, I haven't really achieved much of anything on this site and my stories aren't exactly ground breaking. I also have the issue of not being able to keep an editor and the editor that was gonna help said this-
You do not appear to care too much about other people's feelings or motivations. If you want to become a decent author, you should change that
I'll admit I didn't take to kindly to that because at the time(and even now), I've been trying to be nice and reasonable to others , even with events going on irl(editor or otherwise) and I... went on a bit of a rant. Nothing explicit mind you but I did say that I didnt like the fact they said that and that I've been nothing but trying to help others dispute my own issues.
I won't say who he/she is out of respect but it did hurt me greatly they said that when they dont know me as a person. I did apologize for the rant but I did mean most of what I said... so I ask you(friends, followers or even people that just know me) am I a bad aurthor/person?

that makes no sense...you write cause you like to write, and it's your ideas. what's other peoples motivations have to do with that? it's YOUR motivations that are the reason you write... -.-
their emotions? that only counts in as far as invoking an emotional response from the stories you write, has no sway is why you write. he doesn't like your writing style, tough balls
Gotta say I agree with link4 it's a spot on analysis. Your editor is an idiot and sounds like one of the morons who posts comments complaining about story elements like Aj losing her hat (yes i read a comment bitching about that to another author) instead of actual things that would improve someone writing.

Long story short the human has the hots for Aj who loses her hat in a fight with the big bad. She's not interested romantically till he manages to track her hat down (giving to her by her dad before he passed). But yea not a peep about the human looking for the hat over most of Equestria and succeeding. Just the initial it got lost made him lose his mind

Would you mind clarifying something here please? When the would-be editor said:
...Were they talking about real people (as in other users on this site), or about the characters you're writing?
'Cause those are two very different things, and I could see an editor raising either one of them as a point for an author to address. So it's hard to know what to make of it until that's confirmed!
