So fresh!

Today was pretty eventful in my short career as a squidkid. I finally returned to the solo campaign and cleared the first boss battle. And man, FUCK that boss battle. Holy hell what was that shit.

I'm definitely more in it for the multiplayer online battles than the solo campaign, so don't expect me to be in any hurry to finish that hot mess up.

As for online...

I'm having some measure of steady success in some areas, and frustration in others. Right now, my highest rank is C+ in Tower Control. Splat Zones and Rainmaker, I keep backsliding in. Clam Blitz, I've got a solid C rank. But I'm not discouraged, because I'm seeing Level 46 players who are still at rank C.

Yesterday, I traded in my Kensa Splattershot for Kensa Splat Dualies to change my special weapon to the Baller. I can't say I'm as satisfied with the Dualies as I am with the Splattershot, but I've been adjusting, and while I have some shaky battles (don't we all?), I'm finding myself dishing out decent amounts of punishment.

Like so. And so.

BOOYAH!

The solo campaign is fun once you get into a rhythm. Some of the stages are a blast.
I’m surprised the oven gave you that much trouble. Some of the later bosses are much more challenging.
I would recommend playing the solo campaign. For one, it’s the only thing you can do when offline. For two, the standard hero shot is bad, but you do get to upgrade it and use different weapons. For three, it’s good practice for if you ever get the octo expansion. Which I would recommend if you enjoy the single player in the slightest.

Don't worry too much about player levels. Once you're past 30, everything is unlocked. Beyond that, level is just an indicator of how much time you've played. I'm in the 70's, but I'm still in the B ranks of some modes.

Good job on getting the full quad kill. My advice would be to stay out of the zone itself, and guard from the edges. Also, you could've dodge rolled with the dualies to make yourself harder to hit.

Every time I try to edge guard I either get splatted from behind or end up being useless while we lose badly. Other modes, I play defense, but Zones, I have to go full offense or I'm a waste of ink.

I'm still getting used to Dualies. I often forget I can Dodge Roll.

So something you should know about solo campaign: In order to unlock all the Hero weapons for multiplayer, you have to beat EVERY LEVEL of single player with each weapon.
