The Fix A Heart Series: A Relationship In Milestones · 7:44am Mar 27th, 2019
Hey guys! Thanks for stopping in to read this blog!
So Fix A Heart and it's sequels Nightingale and Popping The Question were all completely unexpected. I literally thought that Fix A Heart was just going to be this stand alone story and It ballooned with two sequels in less than 24 hours, and I'm already working on a third and planning a fourth! Maybe I should consider it an anthology at this point...
Okay, but I'm getting off topic here. So I'm such a huge fan of the idea that family is the one you choose, not always the one you are born into. For Gallus in this series, this is especially true, since the whole thing basically started because he didn't know where he came from. But through this series we get to see him gain his own family, and that message is so important to me.
Gallus greatly contrasts Silverstream, who knows who her family is and where she comes from, and who is his polar opposite. And yet they bond despite all of that, and eventually have a romantic relationship. I think a good quality in couples is to have some opposite traits, that way if things get too extreme, the other can ground them. Sometimes there are couples who have everything in common, but rarely do we see them. Relationships with differences really can be stronger than ones with no conflict, because they have grown together and learned to resolve issues.
Gallus and Silverstream are somewhat based on my love story with my husband, in the sense that we met at school, and have helped each other deal with our more sensitive issues, and of course that on some things we are polar opposites. Writing this series was sort of like writing a love letter to him. It let me relive all of our big moments so far. First dates, proposals, places of importance to us. It made me feel like I shared a piece of myself with all of you.
Silverstream and Gallus' story is far from over if the word document on my computer says anything about it. Two sequels are planned, but more may come. Who knows where it will go next? I sure don't. What I do know is I am happy to enjoy the ride.
Glad to hear it
Yay! Glad to see your happy again momma.
