Not really. It's the word 'pink' with an 'ie' at the end.
English in general is weird. It's not phonetically consistent and is so so unintuitive at times. I swear, it's like you guys made up the rules as you enter and changed them to keep it to yourselves.
Honestly, I've never really thought about it. But yeah. It's kinda weird.
