It's not easy being a fan

A thought recently came to me when I was browsing YouTube once. No matter what you're a fan if, you're always going to have it rough. Be it whether you're comparing reboots to originals, or even the warzone that is shipping, you're always going to be right in the crosshairs of someone. Say you're a fan of a reboot, but you have some criticism on the story. You would get blasted by both sides. Or

    Been Doing Some Thinking

To be honest, I'm starting to regret ever signing up on this site. I've had to make my readers sit through long waiting periods between updates. One user kept emailing me at ungodly hours to help him write a story that he stole from a friend of mine. My original writing is crap, and I should've just deleted all my old stories (god I sucked back then and I don't know if I've really gotten any

    Update: Calling it Quits

Hey everyone. So, upon words of encouragement and support, I've decided to keep on going with my stories. It'll take a heck of a while before I even work on them again, but they will be completed. I promise. Granted it's taking a lot longer than I wanted to, and I get distracted (YouTube, video games, etc.). But it's better than just dumping out a chapter every hour. Thanks to all of you who lent

I'm starting to think of calling it quits.

Hey everyone. I've been doing some thinking lately, and I realized I'm pretty much never going to get my series done at this point. College just demands too much of my time. Everyone says to "look at the positive", "life's not just school". Or, here's a classic one, "go out and meet people." It's so easy for people to say, but doing it is nigh impossible when you've got a mountain of work to do

I've cut my ties with the Force. · 5:09am Mar 18th, 2019

I love Star Wars. It was one of the first major movies I saw when I was a kid, and it really stuck with me. I don't even mind the prequel trilogy at all because it told me how Anakin became Vader. And when The Force Awakens released, I was pretty excited and had a fun time watching it. But sadly, my love for the series took a significant blow after The Last Jedi and a certain slogan called "The Force is Female" started making the rounds. Why would such a slogan upset me? Because in the words of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the force is everywhere and in everyone. It has no gender, and it certainly doesn't need one. As for The Last Jedi, I tried to like it more than I should have. I didn't like how Luke turned out, and the code subplot was a bit pointless. I enjoyed the fight in the throne room, but I still don't get how Rey could have gotten so skilled with almost no training. Then we have Leia floating in space. . . . Yeah, I think it would've been more respectful if they'd had her die peacefully and it could've served as something to trigger a bit of growth in Ben Solo/Kylo Ren. I know this is something I'm late to weigh in on, but I just wanted to get my thoughts out.

I hate saying this, but I've decided to make like TLJ Luke and discard my lightsaber and hang up my jedi robe. For a brief moment, the force had reawakened within me. But now? I think I'll let it return to its slumber so it can be at peace.

Its sad when a jedi is put to rest, look at Qui-Gon or Kenobi, HELL EVEN MAUL IN REBELS, but i pray that regardless of that IF you do ever get back into the series, try the books or games like Knights of The Old Republic, at least those and others somewhat redeem the series

Thank you. In all honest, I'm still going to see Episode 9 when it released because I hope that it'll make things right. Btw, you can expect another blog post soon about why I'm saddened about the current state of comics. Heck, it's part of why I started some of my stories in the first place.

Its almost like nerd culture is being destroyed by idiocy, and its getting pathetic that everything nerds held sacred for generations os slowly beong ruined by mainstream media

5029686
Yeah. It's really sad. Well, not sad. Horrifying is more appropriate. When I look at most comics now, I don't see heroes like the ones I looked up to or enjoyed reading about. To me, what makes a good hero is someone who has qualities you can aspire to. They represent what we can become and an ideal to strive towards. You admire them and like them because they do the right thing, and that's the only reason they need to do it. But today, all I see are "diverse" heroes instead of good ones. And I feel this diversity is doing the opposite of what it's intending. And forgive me if I sound like I'm giving a speech, but this is something that really fueled me in starting some of my stories.

A good hero is someone you can look up to because of who they are, and what they do. They don't need to share your skin color, your gender for you to like them. You like them because they stand as an ideal you can work towards. They do the right thing because it's what should be done. They put the needs of others before themselves, and fight hard so that no one else has to. But most of all, they bring hope. Hope that all will be well, and that we can become better than we are.

When I got to writing my Elements of Heroism series, I based my characters on what it meant to be a hero and what they should stand for. But most of all, I just wanted to make something people enjoyed and had fun reading. Good action, a cool cast, and heroes just doing their thing.

I get what you mean, honestly. The new writer that Disney hired brought too much politics into a movie series that’s supposed to have its own political system, completely unrelated to anything we actually have. Honestly? I never was a big fan of Star Wars, the movies are pretty good, but it just isn’t.. good anymore.

Well there is some news about Star Wars Episode IX, I don't know if it is good or not BUT... there are rumors that George Lucas is going to bring back the Luke Skywalker we all know and love.

I get where your coming from. I was talking with some friends about the recent Marvel movies, which were very well done. But we heard about the “only (insert stereotype here) can see the first week of the movie.” It’s just a movie. Get off your high horse, silence your phone, and enjoy the adventure.

But the media can’t go two seconds without sticking their noise into the “politics” of a movie. But when they do, it is up to true fans to silence them, and let the truth be seen.

Anyway, I see why you want to take a break, and its a good reason. Stay strong, and may the force guide you.

Thanks man. Btw, would you like to help me plan out my Kamen Rider story in a new PM? There's a few things pertaining to an OC of yours which I plan on including with your permission.

5029853
Sure, I just may be offline sometimes. Busy with college and some new art projects.

5029882
I get pretty busy with college too. So you want me to send the PM, or are you gonna do it? Either works for me.

5029892
You can send it. Would be easier.

5029992
Ok. Sending it now.

This nonsense that Disney is doing made me give up my Jedi dreams and I decided to go the way of Han and become a swashbuckling scoundrel.

5030278
Yeah. I can see why.
