    I'm done.

Hey everyone, it's been a long-ass time since I've written on here and today, it might be the last time I will ever write on here. Today, I've decided to write a crack ship story on here. It's called Different People and it's basically a Sunset Shimmer Story if she were to be paired up with Button Mash. It's been a fun ride with all of you and I've been thinking about this for a long time

    The Blue Box Conspiracy Theory

Okay, it's been about a solid week now and the internet won't shut up about it, so I'm gonna say something. So it's been a while since I've spoken on here and I'm now obligated to get my hands dirty. Recently, there have been rumors that this PS5 game called Abandoned is some sort of smokescreen for some brand new Silent Hill game being made by the former developer for Konami, Hideo

    23 coming on 24

Well, I just turned 24 today and it's been a long while since I've said anything on here. It's been several months since I published anything on here and I will explain why. I've been publishing stories on Archive of our Own for a long time now and I must say that I enjoy it. I have no idea why, but I've been burnt out on publishing MLP content. Whether it be clop or regular, I just stopped. It's

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Greetings, my friends, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I hope you've been doing well in these hard times and I wish you well. Anyway, I've been keeping well. Although I will be looking for a new job pretty soon since my time could be up at Boomer's. I don't mind since it sucks ass over there. But I've had a pretty good day today. I got to eat a full plate at the table and I FINALLY GOT MY PS5

    Story Update

In the past several weeks, I have been working on Spike's Polyamorous Honeymoon. Well, I'm going to make a little confession: I haven't been working on an update for The Abyssal Requiem. I tried thinking of ways to work on the second arc, but none just came to mind. But don't worry, nothing is cancelled. However, I have been working on The Green Devil in the past several

Captain Marvel Review (Feat Saberking2012) · 5:39am Mar 9th, 2019

GhoulDash97: Greetings, everyone. My name is Ghoul.

Saberking2012: And I'm Saber!

GhoulDash97: This is our review of the recently released movie, Captain Marvel.

Saberking2012: Before we begin, I just want to make three disclaimers- A) I'm going to be reviewing this on it's own merits. Not based on the actress or the controversy around it(I will cover that at the end). B) If you disagree with me(Or Ghoul), that's fine. It's just our option. And lastly, there will be spoilers in this review so you have been warned.

GhoulDash97: So kicking this thing off, this movie, this is about a woman who thought herself to be an alien, but comes to realize she isn't who she thinks she is.

Saberking2012: That seems rather bland when you think about it. Then again, this is Marvel and for the most part, they are universally loved. Heck, Thor, Thanos and Gamora are aliens and I love them so I can overlook the plot. The better question would be how it's portrayed.

GhoulDash97: This movie takes place in the 90s and is supposedly a callback to Nostalgia and whatnot, but this movie starts off with a boorish training session between Carol Danvers (AKA Vers) and Yon-rogg, the bland main antagonist of this movie. It is an amnesia story where Carol Danvers started off as an Air Force Pilot and was abducted by Yon due to being struck by an explosion a blue substance that fuses to her DNA like how Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider. Only this was a splash more so than a bite.

Saberking2012: Ugh, don't remind me of the 90's... But yea, the beginning was pretty boring for the most part. The main antagonist(If you can call him that...) basically tries to keep Captain Marvel(Carol Danvers) from regaining her memories while using her to his advantage. When she was captured, she was shown memories of her past.

GhoulDash97: And this is where I find issue with this movie.

Saberking2012:Come on, Ghoul. Let's keep ourselves in check.

GhoulDash97: ...fine. But please tell me know why the feminist agenda is showing in this movie.

Saberking2012: We can cover that at the end. I don't like it but we're trying to keep the movie and outside influence separate. Besides, wasn't that the reason you-

GhoulDash: Okay! Spare me your outside influence medley. I know where I stand.

Saberking2012: Just so long as you don't go all "Instant kill mode" again. Sorry for cutting in. Let's continue where we left off, shall we:trollestia:?

GhoulDash97: In the middle of the movie after an ambush against the Skrulls, she was captured and was interrogated for information by said Skrulls. Naturally, she escapes and fights her way to freedom, but crash-lands on earth. Moving around, she feels like a fish out of water. Throughout the movie, it feels like a bland piece of tofu ready to be cooked for a delicious meal, only to be spoiled for standing too much in the sun. The lead actress, Brie Larson, was a boring and uninspiring underdog who spends most of the movie looking like Plank if he lost his identity as a piece of wood. You could replace him with her and he'll still get the job done as Captain Marvel. But that's needless to say as there are a couple of saving graces. Aside from Stan Lee, of course.

Saberking2012- As much as I don't want to be negative, I do have to agree with you about Brie Larson. She was really not fit for the role. And that's ignoring the event's surrounding her. If I had to be honest, I legitimately despise her as an actress. I will also admit that going in, I was ready to tear this movie apart. However, I calmed down and decided to give it a chance, despite the controversy around it. For me, her lines were okay for the most part. A couple of her one liners made me groan but I can overlook it. It's one of the only main criticism I have towards it. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) was the star(Although that would imply he never was to begin with) of this movie and had me chuckling a lot hard than I should've.

GhoulDash97: Indeed. A couple of his one-liners made me chuckle a bit throughout the movie. The CGI on his face was one of the most pure, beautiful pieces of art I've seen in the history of Marvel and Cinema itself:raritystarry:. It didn't distract from the film and it made him stand out from the entire cast in this movie, yet he was shoved to the side by Brietard Larson. But moving aside from that, most of the cast wasn't terrible. Carol Danvers's friend was pretty good and the child did a decent job. Heck, the Skrulls weren't back, but the twist where they were the good guys sorta turned me off a bit. But I will say I'm not a fan of Mar-Vell. She looked disinterested and she just didn't seem to wanna be a part of this movie.

Saberking2012:

Brietard

Ghoul, I have a Maka Chop on stand-by. Don't give me a reason to use it:ajbemused:. As for the rest of the cast, I agree with you there and for the most part, did their job well. Also, that's another problem with the movie. The Plot twist was super predicable witch is saying a lot considering Marvel(A.K.A, the MCU) tends to have these consistent either boring villains, predicable twist or both. Of course, with the sole exception of Thanos and Loki along with a few others. Then again, I've been watching these movies since 2005 so... maybe i'm just use to it.

GhoulDash97: Maka-chop me and I'll break your face, Gon-style:twilightangry2:. As I was saying, the rest of this film looks good, but it was incredibly boring. Morso than Thor: The Dark World and Fant4Stic. Say what you will about those movies, but at least they were trying to tell a story. Here, it's just a two-hour dose of feminist propaganda syringed into your veins, making you feel as if you were in a coma. The other saving grace was the cat called Goose.

Saberking2012: Not the cat:fluttershyouch:!

GhoulDash97: The cat! He was alright for the film and he was as cute as any other cat you'd see in a pet-shop. At least, until the end...:twilightoops:

Saberking2012: I don't think I can look at a cat the same way ever again:raritydespair:... Anyways, there is one more thing I must complain about though.

GhoulDash97: And what is that?

Saberking2012: This is probably just a me thing, but I hate the look on her costume towards the end. At the beginning, it looked nice and the colors were good to look at. However, once the red, blue and yellow kicked in, it was ugly to look at.

*Marvel Fans going nuts, saying i'm against the source material*

I know, I know it's her look but it just looks terrible. Especially when it looks off putting and distracts from the rest of the movie. Granted, it's more of a nitpick but it's worth noting.

GhoulDash97: Personally, I expected the colors to come in. The costume looks generic with most of Uncle Sam's colors on it, but other than that, I don't have much of an issue against it. But moving away from that, we get to see Ronan the Accuser after five-six years from The Guardians of the Galaxy, one of the Marvel Movies that I adore along with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy. However, it doesn't take away from his generic appearance from the former. He's still the bland, generic villain we've seen from five-six years ago and is unlikely to change anytime soon in movie appearances. While I don't hate him as much in this, he's still pretty bland and doesn't amount to much in the plot. We don't even get to see him fight, which is pretty much upsetting since he is Judge, Jury, and Executioner of the Kree.

Saberking2012: It's not so much as when they would come in, but a matter of how it would look and how it looked was borderline ugly. In the comics(Or rather, from what I've seen), it looks fine. Again, it's more of a me problem. As for Ronan, I was slightly surprised he didn't fight her. Especially since he fights(Sorta) the Guardians in that movie. He just runs away and we have a boring fight between Captain Marvel and Yon-rogg which I already knew the outcome long before it would start.

GhoulDash97: Yes, but I wanted to see him fight without the Power Stone. I've seen him at his most maximum. I wanted to see him before he claimed the Infinity Stone. I felt blue-balled when I saw him retreat along with the Kree Fleet. It was worse than The Last Jedi when Admiral Holdo destroyed the entire Empire Fleet at the speed of light with hyper-transport (feel free to correct me if you know the term). But looking at the film now, it feels dull and sleep-inducing with only the few saving graces being Samuel L. Jackson and a few others. I just couldn't get into it. It was eye-rolling at best and gear-grinding at worst. I'd be much happier if I was shown Catwoman or any other generic female superhero film with no message behind it. I was just turned away from it. Especially now that despicable actress succeeded in doing so since it wasn't made for white men.

Saberking2012: Yea... I was kinda annoyed at what she said. While i'm not disclosing my race here(As that's not the main point of this), I do agree that what she said was rather dumb on her part. Especially since all it did was hurt any chance it had at being good. Then again, even if she kept her lips sealed, it wouldn't save the movie by much. Overall, if I had to give it a rating, it'd be a 7(ish) out of ten. While it didn't disappoint or anger me as much as I thought it was going too, the acting on her part, story and few boring sense killed what potential it had. The good news is watching this isn't completely required to watch Avengers Endgame.

GhoulDash97: While you may seem merciful towards this movie, I'm not pulling my punches. This movie gets a 4 out of 10. This movie was formulaic, generic, and Brie Larson looked like she didn't wanna be a part of this. I can only hope that they reduced her role in Avengers Endgame and that she gets fired after that movie. I heard a rumor that the MCU Cast is unhappy with Brie Larson and Kevin Feige putting her in the spotlight. Even Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, made some sarcastic tweets about the movie itself. The one actress, Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) is unhappy with how she and the cast members are being pushed aside and if this is true, Kevin Feige will have no choice but to fire and recast Captain Marvel. It happened with Edward Norton when he played the Hulk. We can only hope that Disney and Marvel will listen to us and they will do what they can to atone for this. They are already aware of The Last Jedi and Solo. They certainly don't want another PR disaster. But then again... Disney's a huge conglomerate and won't listen to us. Unless we speak with our wallets. You're better off watching Alita: Battle Angel. From what I've heard, it's one of the better films, but I'll see for myself. I will still see Avengers Endgame, which will be around my birthday, btw.

Saberking2012: Seriously? I wasn't aware of the backstory behind the MCU cast and the whole Hulk bit is certainly news to me. That would explain a couple of things... In any case, Endgame is just around the corner and I'm happy to see that. The only question I have for it is who will make it out:moustache:? In any case, this was an... interesting but fun review. I thank you for having me aboard this and maybe when we see Endgame, we can review it? Of course, that's assuming your clop fics don't get in the way of that:trollestia:.

GhoulDash97: How prudish can you be? At least my stories embrace the weirdness. You're just desperate in trying to be noticed.

Saberking2012: I'm not a prude! I just have different taste. Besides, any joe schmoe can write clop. I could if I- Nope, nope, I'm not going down that rabbit hole. I'm gonna leave before I get sucked in. Saberking out!

GhoulDash97: Which hole~:trollestia:?

Saberking2012:...

GhoulDash97: In all seriousness, I had a lot of fun with this review, despite my transgressions towards this movie. I hope to do more reviews of the movies I like and I hope to collab with you more, Saber. As much as I pick on him, I suggest you check out his stories. The link will be down below. They're pretty good. Anyways, this is GhoulDash97 signing out. I'll see you on the other side.

so spilting the difference, 5.5/10.... techinally above average

5025427 More or less. I'm a lot more leeway than he is. To say he was angry with the movie would be an undertsament. Still, aside the whole controversy, I expected much worse. I'm glad I was wrong though.

I'll catch in on netflix

Good job on this GhoulDash, I hope there will be more of this in the future.

My apologizes for messaging at this hour but I just came across this and decided to re-evaulte the movie(i did watch it again via, the internet).

After seeing this and re-comparing a few things, all this does it make the movie look worse in comparison(there are a few more but I couldnt upload the pictures for some reason...). After consideration, my rating went down to a six. How I failed to realized this is beyond me but in the future, I'll have to keep an keen out for things like this. The only reason it's not lower is because I can't completely tell if it's a hommage or blatantly being lazy(similar to how Boruto copies scenes from Naruto but in its defense, it has the excuse of being a series so to speak). What I said in this review still stands but this is information I felt like I needed to mention.

5025427 Check previous message if wish to know more since I added it here(since I can't edit the review)

Thank you for this review. It's too bad that they didn't do a better job with the movie. It would be nice if it got a remake in the future with better actors/ actresses playing the roles and a more experienced director/ scriptwriter.

5033626 A Part of me doubt a remake will be made for it. Then again, there seems to be reboots/remakes of everything nowadays so... maybe? Also, we will do a review for Endgme so if you're intrested, keep an eye out for it.

5033643 Feel free to post a link when you do and I will read your review. :)

5033459
Well, in defense of Captain Marvel's (the movie not the character) writers, directer, producers, etc, Kevin Feige has stated his intent to have Captain Marvel carry on the role of Captian America as the MCU's paragon following Avengers: Endgame, the imagines that the meme of Deadpool calls 'lazy writing' is a visiual short hand to help establish in the minds of the audence the two's simularities... or intended simularities I should say

5033870 Oh, oh, oh? Welp, GhoulDash(along with quite a number of fans) ain't gonna like this, I can say that much right now... Its a good thing I kept my meaning vague

5033873
Well, then he's gonna like this even less, Kevin Fiege actually intended for Captain Marvel to take on the role of the 'Avengers' paragon following Captian America after the Infinity Stones/Infinity Gauntlet/Thanos arch as far back as before the deal with Sony for Peter Parker/Spiderman to be in Captain America: Civil War and the MCU was finalized... and given that Captain Marvel has thus far grossed just under $920 million, assuming only a 50% of the ticket gross is for Marvel (it can be as high as 55%), that's just under $460 million, with a budget of, rounding up, $175 million, that just short of $285 million, marketing was most likely equal to the higher budget of $175 million, so a pure net profit of just short of $110 million, rounding down, $100 million... and the movie is still in theaters and is very likely to make more money... from a purely finanical point of view the movie Captian Marvel had made more than enough to justify the character's inclusion in the MCU from here on in...

5033876 Its not so much Captain Marvel thats the issue so much as the Actress. If she(the charater) is played by someone else, there won't be any issues but with the way she is, all its gonna do is make things worse for Marvel(and to some extent, Disney). I dont know how GhoulDash himself feels about the character(we/I both know how he feels towards the actress herself) but he did mention to me if someone else takes the role, his anger towards her would be lower(although to extent is unknown).

The only thing I have to say is after Endgame, they're gonna have to switch Actress if they want to avoid anymore flank from the fans. Especially with what's been going on behind the scenes(GhoulDash knows more about that then i do so if you wish to know more, ask him). While I can't speak for the fandom themselves, I think we can agree that the actress is universally hated and has causes quite a scene.

Also, thank you for the information. I've learned quite a bit because of this.

5033879
They did not recast Captian Marvel, it's a few days from April and Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26th this year... thus Brie Larson will be performing the role again... so yeah if Ghoul wants to see Avengers: Endgames, he'll have to watch a second movie with an actor he doesn't like.

Also, there is something that has to be considered, separating the art from the artist. Taking myself for an example, I can't agree with Chris Evan's politics or most of the MCU actor's political points of view, but I can look at them in the films when they are in their roles, and I enjoy the characters they portray.

5033888 I was referring to after Endgame. I'm aware it's a little late(as does he although he hopes she has less of a major role in it this movie). I should've been more clear on it and I apologize. As for separating A/B, that's easy enough for me. I'm only saying that they should reconsider in the near future. Dont need another Star Wars stick on their hands. I'm aware it's a different franchise but they're technically owned by Disney so I can still use it to explain my point. But we shall see what happens after Endgame.

5033892
Well, here's the thing, the actors that sign with Marvel Studios, do so for a certain number of movies, and after Endgames the next films are Spiderman: Far From Home, Black Panther 2, Dr. Strange 2, The Eternals, Guardians Vol. 3, (Now this doesn't include the carryover from the Fox merger concerning the X-Men or what Sony has planned with the Spiderman characters that don't have Peter Parker and the movies that are just rumored) given what Feige intended for Captian Marvel, the character, it's not likely that she'll appear in any of those save maybe The Eternals and Guardians Vol. 3, but that's a stretch, and back to Fiege' intent, she would still be short a second solo film, which is more likely than not going to have Brie carry on the role.
Ultimately, this isn't pre-Iron Man 2 James Rhodes (War Machine) or Bruce Banner, Brie is more likely than not (by a massive margin) going to be Captian Marvel for at least as many films as Christ Evans was Captain America to the number of films Downing was Iron Man, or at least the films that Captain Marvel plays a role in
