Howdy.

So, it's been a hot minute, right?

This isn't a blog post saying I've gotten back on the boat and I'm working on the next chapter of any story I've ever made ever. Nope. I haven't touched Closed The Case in about 6 years. Yeah, she's dead and buried. You'll probably noticed I changed the status to 'cancelled' because hoo boy yeah that was a pipe dream. I had no idea where it was going, I was making it up as I went, and I was losing motivation FAST. I don't even know what was going to happen to Spike, I had no idea what the dragon's motivation was going to be, what was Garble doing in there? I think there was going to be some dramatic plot where not everything was as it seemed but it would have been half assed at best. But whateves, Spike got home okay in the end.

As it does, life gets in the way. I almost killed myself, came out of a four month hospitalization in 2016, and felt like a general piece of poo. No writing came out of me. I just stopped. Afterwards, when I was discharged and back in the home stretch of my grade 12 year, I tried my best to get back into writing something. When I did, I realized something.

My writing is garbage.

Yep, I'm not that great of a writer. Sure, maybe I was for a time, but once I stopped, I STOPPED. Now, at least, I couldn't write my way out of a box. And that's okay!

When I wrote all my stories I was 15. I'm turning 21 this year. Looking back on them as an adult with a bit more sense, I'm like, sure the grammer is there, but there's no flow, I'm not good at writing descriptions, and the plots of everything I write bounce around and make no sense. All in all, yeah, they a'ight but they just a'ight. But, that's okay. Writing's not my passion as it once was, and I'm okay with being completely mediocre.

That's not to say I'm not grateful for all of you who took the time to read any of my works. Thank you, so much. You all mean the world to me and I'm touched to think that there are some people on here who love my stories and are still waiting for an update after all this time. Never stop being you, you crazy animals.

And, as it happens, life goes on. I got better. I got accepted into University and am planning to head into Nursing (perhaps in the Mental Health field), I've got an awesome job as a lifeguard, and have amazing friends. Life is good, I'm good, and you guys are good too!

With MLP coming to it's last stand, I will as well. I've been a fan since 2010 and I've seen it all. However, I'm not as big of a fan as I once was. I've definitely moved on. (My Hero Academia chewed me up and spit me out horikoshi can i please have chapter 218 and can we please get the fight with overhaul animated thx) Not to say I'm completely done with MLP. I watch everything, and I still love it, but not enough to write about it anymore.

Yeah...please, if you've been waiting, it's time to move on. I can say with utmost certainty that I am never going to be an active writer on here again. Really REALLY sorry if you were waiting for a triumphant return, but it be like that sometimes.

So yeah. That's that. You're all amazing and I love you. Bless your little hearts, but this will be my last blog post.

Shut The Blinds has been on my "Read Later" list for a while now. Might check it out sometime soon.

Thank you for your contributions to this fandom. Even if you won't be writing anymore, I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay!

Eh, at least you had the decency to tell us. Lots of people just drop off the face of the earth without a word, presumably for similar reasons, but it's good to know for sure.

I actually was considering doing a potential sequel to Shut the Blinds myself.
