Longtime friend and roommate Baron Engel is a lucid dreamer. More than that, he has years-long serial lucid dreams in various settings. Most of them are original, but over the last several years almost all of his dream activity has been in a very nineteenth-century and vaguely Lovecraftian Equestria.
Recently, however, came an exception to the usual, which he described to me over breakfast. In this dream he and I were attending Babscon, I think, which is about a half-hour’s drive from where we live. Of itself that’s nothing unusual. What was odd, however, was the fact I of all people was a community guest, thanks to a surprise-hit story on Fimfiction. Rose and Tempest, you see, were in charge of planning and heading up security for the wedding of, Celestia help us, Cook and Sunset. According to the dream I was thoroughly bemused and ambivalent at having achieved such prominence thanks to a completely ridiculous and out-of-character crackshipping story.
