An update. · 1:16am Feb 2nd, 2019
Hi all!
So - obviously it's been some time since the latest addition to The Lost Ponies - Jurassic Park. Gonna preface this - don't worry - it's still a WIP - but I'd reached a point where the next instalment was going to take some time to put together.
Then, last October, I had a serious motorcycle accident.
Thankfully I survived to tell the tale but after talking to the paramedics, doctors, and others present at the scene, I am incredibly lucky to be walking away from it at all. I am equally as lucky to have not been paralyzed (I'll spare you all the details, but somehow I didn't break my spine and sever my spinal cord), and again just as lucky to retain use of both my arms.
I was hospitalised for three weeks and upon discharge it's taken me up until about Christmas to be able to feel like I'm coming out of the other side of the whole ordeal. So, all in all, that's a great thing - with the severity of the accident everyone (this includes the medical professionals) are both surprised and thrilled to see how quickly I've gotten to this stage.
Life, now, is about doing what I can to return to normal. I can walk (slowly, but I'm able), I can drive, and I'm working on rebuilding muscular strength. That's probably going to take the best part of all year.
Anyway! Of course life comes first, but it has been a long time since an update and I've really missed progressing with The Lost Ponies. It's the most challenging thing I've ever written, for sure, and in order to get it to a standard that I'm happy with I find I need to be in the right sort of headspace for it. Now, recovering from a serious accident and all that comes with it - namely, severe pain and very strong drugs - doesn't exactly put one in the correct frame of mind. However, I feel mentally sharp enough and physically able enough to be able to commit to writing once again, so with any luck we'll see some new chapters very soon.
I know it seems silly for me to apologise in light of a near-death experience but I know there's a few of you out there who follow The Lost Ponies quite closely - and to you guys (you know who you are) I'm sorry it's taken so long! But circumstances haven't exactly been... shall we say... ideal. Thanks to you guys as ever for supporting me and the story. There is more to come, and it's gonna be a long haul, but the tale shall be told.
That's all she wrote, folks. Catch you on Isla Sorna in the not too distant future.

I'm glad to hear that you're recovering. I can't imagine what that would feel like.
Happy to see you're getting better. I wish you a full recovery.

Thank you both :) Good to hear from you two - it wasn't the most pleasant thing I've ever experienced, we'll say that much. Definitely on the other side of it now I think! Looking to start back at work within a few weeks and slowly reintegrate myself into the outside world. Doctors are confident I'll make a full recovery and I feel muuuuuuuuch more well and healthy than I did. I'm actually working on The Lost Ponies as I type this! I imagine we'll see another chapter fairly soon. :)
