February writing plans · 5:11pm Feb 1st, 2019
In one word: Firefly. The objective of this coming month is to finish off the Battle of Epsilon and the first day of war. But I haven't stopped thinking about Nightmare Night, or other things I might be writing, including my anthro novel. I've also had a few other idea bunnies running around my head, but I'd think long and hard before starting them given my other obligations.
Best guess is that two more chapters of Firefly are needed to finish off the battle. It wouldn't just be writing, as some new battle maps would be in order as well as a campaign map that shows overall invasion progress at the end of the first day of war. Past that, once the Battle for Epsilon concludes, you'll see its immediate aftermath and then a time jump forward of one week towards the next two major battles, one of which doesn't take place against the gryphons. Who, then? They've been at least mentioned at this point, and will seek to take advantage of pony distraction and forces being pulled from other fronts to fight the Gryphons. At least one of those two fights will also be guest-written and others are welcome to join that pantheon if they wish. As this story is featuring many perspectives, they should be written by different people as much as possible.
And past that? I'll shift back to Nightmare Night for a couple chapters in March and think about starting the TLaTU revamp towards Spring as well.
Nice! Don't burn yourself out though. :)
What were you looking to do to TLaTU?
Also, my guess is some disgruntled Thestral shenanigans are coming

Thanks! I’ll take breaks if I have to.

I’m planning to give TLaTU the same treatment as I gave TAS--in other words, a full editing pass plus updates to fix various issues. That may include some new content as I did leave a couple gaps in the story. Disgruntled thestral shenanigans in Firefly? Well, all I’ll say for now is that although the thestrals have yet to appear (don’t worry, they’re coming!), at some point they’re going to have to choose sides and not be able to stay out of the war...
