I don't know all of the details, but user MrNumbers posted a blog discussing the decreasing female author representation and its effect on clop. To my knowledge, it made some generalizing statements and name'n'shamed authors like An Intricate Disguise and some of his fics that happened to be in the featured box, as well as saying RGRE was bad and stuff.
An Intricate Disguise, Shakespearicles, B_25, anonpencil, and several authors posted a rebuttal blog to it last night, which was shared by several other authors that directly called out MN's report.
This caused a pretty clear divide between authors on FIMFiction, with several authors taking the former's side, and several taking the latter's, resulting in cluttered comments sections and a total flame war.
I probably got stuff wrong there, but I have been dutifully trying not to take part.

huh. Well, I don't know anything about this guy, but I like Intricate and Shakespearicles, so if he's picking fights with them I'm opposed by default.
