Past Year’s Resolutions Recap, and a Look Forward · 9:16am Dec 31st, 2018
The results are in. Out of 17 stated update goals and 4 hidden or added goals, I achieved all 4 additions and 9 of those initially promised, for a completion rate of 53% up front and 62% overall.
Maybe not the best showing I could’ve done, but in my defense, I was watching Pokémon. Given this rate of progress, and looking at my as-yet unstarted library, I’ve realized that a number of my planned stories may never see full releases, and to make up for that, I have decided to use a long series of blog posts to reveal what their drafts could have been while I know there will still be people to see them—the tentative title will be HICHE, or How It Could Have Ended, but I’ll accept other suggestions.
This is my resolution. Throughout next year and beyond, be it monthly or weekly, and hopefully alongside updates to stories already started, I will be unloading summaries of my unposted stories in the sort of “History of Power Rangers” format pioneered by Linkara (no relation to “history of the entire world, I guess”, I’m not a musician). I will begin with perhaps my biggest abandoned project of all, “A Different Kind of Pegasus Device”, a Stargate Atlantis crossover, which is really more of a full season than a single story, and each “episode” will be addressed separately. If I can get them to work, I’ll link Google Docs/Drive with the draft as it stands in a read-only format, so you can follow along with dialogue where the blog merely sums up, as well as see the finer details and small jokes otherwise skipped over.
So look ahead for January 2019, when we lock chevron 8, and go through the wormhole, for a visit to the Pegasus Galaxy…
(I made this little trailer in 2014. I'm glad I finally get to use it.)
