How Many Times Does Trixie Actually Say "I"?

One of Trixie's best-known traits in the fandom is that she speaks in the third person all the time. But does she really? Turns out, no one has ever counted the times she says "I." Until now...

Reference/Inspiration List for "Where Black Seas Lap the Shores of Dead Stars"

Rather than litter the author's notes with references in my usual style, I thought I'd try something a little different. So, for the curious, I've made a separate blog post of all the references and allusions you might have missed!

Hat Man Reviews: "Haze" by Bandy!

Haze is a story that is filled with big ideas: Cloud empires. Flying earth ponies. Ancient religions. Superpower-inducing fungi. Unfortunately, much like the mushroom-munching ponies in this story, this story might be biting off more than it can handle…

Porter Robinson show follow-up (with video!) · 4:18am Dec 30th, 2018

Hey folks! The Porter Robinson show I mentioned in my last post was great, and yes, of course... he did Turing Test's unofficial theme song "Sad Machine." :pinkiehappy:

So, quick story about the concert: I was on the upper level, but was having trouble seeing around all the people to record some clear video. This was when the opening act, Slumberjack (who did a great job as well, but I'm not as familiar with them) was performing. Now, earlier in the evening, I was chatting with a dude about the upcoming Porter Robinson set and I told him that I hadn't been to a live show in over ten years.

He looked utterly shocked and was like, "Well, damn... enjoy this show, then, man!" I told him I would and said thanks and then we went in different directions. Then, right before Porter's set, he found me and said "Hey, I got a balcony booth! Come on over, you'll get a better view, and we've got all the free drinks you want!"

To which I said, "...you had me at free drinks." 🍹

He laughed and said "You seem like a cool guy, so since you haven't been to a show in so long, this is my way of saying 'Welcome back!'"

People are kinda awesome sometimes, aren't they?

Anyway, here are the other videos I recorded for the set, including a surprise bit of Daft Punk in "Fresh Static Snow" and a very silouetted cameo by yours truly around the end of "Shelter." Or you can just watch them all at once on this playlist I created. Enjoy!

The Thrill

Divinity

Fresh Static Snow x Digital Love (fave Daft Punk song and the title of the last chapter of The Iron Horse by the way)

Shelter (aka Georgia and Cobbler's theme)

Glad I was able to share this with you all. I was thinking of all you nice folks when I was recording these. Here's to 2019! Whether 2018 was a good year or a bad one for you, let's all hope for a better one soon! 🥂
