2018, and plans for the future · 12:10am Dec 30th, 2018
I know not many people follow me, but I thought I'd go ahead and post this anyway since a very small number of people may be following me for my Twilight story I have in the works, so I thought I'd just give people an update and such.
2018 has been a crazy ride for me. Went into a brand new, fulltime job, moved in with my BF, and just in general have been adjusting to changes. The big G5 leaks and such at the end of 2017 definitely set a tone for me going into 2018. It was also at the start of 2018 I read my first pony fanfic, The Celestia Code. This, combined with writings of my various friends online such as Logarithmicon, Azure, among others, really inspired me to write my own story. This led me to write The Crepuscularity of an Alicorn, essentially a way to throw some shade on the immortality trope that I disliked.
That wasn't enough to satisfy my itch though, and I wanted more. No less than a week or two later I began drafting plans for a new story, which has been in production since late May. I originally intended to publish it in the fall, then New Year's, but now it looks like it won't be coming out for a few more months. There's lots of editing to be done yet.
The good news though, is it's sitting at a whopping 80,000 or so words, and I'm only about 2/3 or so done with it. I still have an entire arc, and possibly 2 smaller mini-arcs left to write for it. It's something I'm very proud of, and can't wait to finish pouring my love and passion for MLP and Twilight into. A combination of illness and lots of overtime at work has severely put be behind where I want to be in terms of finishing it, but not a day goes by where I don't at least think about the story.
But yeah, that's where I'm at for all this. Once I have the story 90-100% written, and a good chunk edited, chapter 1 will go live, with 1 (maybe even 2) chapters each week following. I have a friend helping out with editing, so I don't want to put him under any stress about release timelines, and my BF is planning to score music for a few scenes as well, and that will take some time to do too. So busybusybusy, but rest assured, it is coming!
And if you are THAT curious, shoot me a message, and I can always post Google doc links to the chapters as I write them. I'm not opposed at all to sharing the in-progress versions, and more feedback is always a boon too!
