A Being's Nature - Names, Souls, and Destiny

A being’s Nature is comprised of their Name, Soul, and their Destiny. These are individually also known as Aspects. The connection between a being's Aspects is tenuous at best. Occasionally, everything will line up. But this is not very common. The most famous examples of this are Monaling and Sunneling. Monaling's name means Of The Moon, and her soul was a part of the Moon. Her destiny was to

    Hrussanskiro (Ponyville)

Near the outskirts of what would become the Everfree Forest, there was a town called Hrussanskiro. It started as farmland near to the outskirts Stainazkopijanslan. Over the centuries it grew more and more, growing more prosperous as it developed. During the Dragon's invasion of Landan sa Hrussan Erthoz, the Earth Pony country, it was one of the first targets hit. Primarily due to its proximity to

A Being's Nature - Names, Souls, and Destiny · 10:17am Dec 25th, 2018

A being’s Nature is comprised of their Name, Soul, and their Destiny. These are individually also known as Aspects. The connection between a being's Aspects is tenuous at best. Occasionally, everything will line up. But this is not very common. The most famous examples of this are Monaling and Sunneling. Monaling's name means Of The Moon, and her soul was a part of the Moon. Her destiny was to herald the night. And Sunneling’s name means Of The Sun, and her soul was a part of the Sun. Like Monaling, her destiny was to herald the day. Part of why their Natures align is because they are a type of beings known as the Celestial Beings.

The Celestial Beings are the embodiments of the Sun, Moon, Stars, and Planets. Every once and awhile, the Celestial Beings incarnate as Mortals. They prefer to manifest in unison. The current Celestials are: Night Blossom, of the Moon; Cheese Sandwich, of the Sun; Grand Mage Briller Etoile, of the Stars; and Proedros Thelisi Sidirou, of the Planets. They do not have just part of their Aspect as their soul. But instead, they have both a regular soul as well as their Aspect. Each Celestial has some connection to their Aspect. Sidirou is hearty and strong like the earth. Sandwich has more power and control of his drycraft and his connection with the earth, in general is strong, more so than a Celestial's connection usually is. Etoile is able to bend light around her. And Glow has some control over both her own dreams and those around her. But there are also the Primordial Concepts.

The Primordial Concepts are the personification of abstract concepts such as Honesty, Curiosity, and even Life and Death. They incarnate as well, but nowhere near as often as the Celestials. The prominent examples of the Primordials are Bù Hé and Frime Mi Amore Cadenza, of Chaos and Love respectively. The Concepts rarely Incarnate with their whole souls, they prefer to split their being into small parts to Incarnate. But they do gift portions of their soul to mortals very often. There are six incarnations of the Primordial Concepts that are fairly well known, which are the Elements of Harmony.

Each tribe has their own naming methods. The Magiques place a lot of importance on families and bloodlines. They usually use family names such as Lueur, Belle, and Miroiter. Magiques also frequently have long personal names, when compared to their Earth and Luftye brethren. Most Magique nobility, especially those who come from long lines, use names related to the stars or magic. The commoners' names can vary in themes. But they mostly stick to names related to their careers. Family names like Or, Argent, Soie, and Belle are common. Personal names tend to be related to the family name in some way. A pony with the family name of Soie wouldn't be out of place with a personal name of Lisse.

The Earth focus their names on a theme. These themes are usually plant or rock related. Examples of Earth family names include the Rindcake family, the Briars, and the Gems. But that just gives an idea of what to name a foal. For a family the Gems, a lot of them have names like Emerald, Pearl, and so forth. The Briars have names like Thornbush and Mudbriar. The Rindcakes tend to have names like Limestone, Quartz, and Marble.

The Luftje do not have family names. There are, usually, two parts to their name. The first is named after their surroundings, physical characteristics, or whatever the parents feel is a good name. This leads to names like Night, Rinizbugj, and Flutter. The second part is representative of their personality. The foal picks this themselves, usually after they have gotten their Mark. This is usually positive, but can be negative. Most pick something related to their Mark, to play it safe as well as having a somewhat unique name. This leads to full names like Night Blossom, Rinizbuge Fornise Russe, and Flutter Shy.
