Going window shopping tomorrow for pc stuff. What should I look out for? · 12:28pm Nov 10th, 2018
Quick update first: the job thing is going well so far, but it's draining and cutting heavily into writing time and energy. The CMC-Starlight map mission fic is pretty solidly outlined, the first few chapters and key scenes are done, but I keep procrastinating on fleshing out the smaller, in-between scenes that lead to the big conflict as well as the descriptions for part of the setting, so no real set date on release. The Bastion thing is just on ice at the moment. I can't really say much on that other than sorry. NaNoWriMo has been a total dud, too, but nobody cares about that, moving on.
Anyway, there's a big pc happening going on tomorrow, and seeing as I have now my first chill weekend since about a month or two, I intend to attend. I do not know what to expect, but I'm looking forward to it.
Now, I know the basics of pc's for gaming and such, I know CPU's and cores are important, as are the graphics cards. I'm not a total noob at it, I know what logicalincrements.com is.
But out of curiosity, what would you recommend I look out for? Are there little things going on in pc-land that I should be aware of? Probably not going to buy anything just yet, but I'll keep an eye out for an adapter to maybe get this handicapped gaming laptop back to its former glory, and I at least need to know my options in case I do find opportunity to upgrade.
It's supposed to be a big event with everything from desktops to laptops to smartphones. And it's being held on the same day and in the same place as a militaria event.
