SuperPinkBrony12

I'm a brony and a Pinkie Pie fan but I like all of the mane six, as well as Spike. I hope to provide some entertaining and interesting fanfics for the Brony community.

    Happy Birthday, Kelly Sheridan

Today is Kelly Sheridan's birthday. She is the talented woman who voiced Starlight Glimmer from Seasons 5 through 9, and was also the voice of characters such as Sassy Saddles, Misty Fly, and Vapor Trail's mother. She has also been the voice of Barbie in several direct to home media movies, Scarlet Witch in X-Men: Evolution, and many other roles.

    Episode Re-Review: Non-Compete Clause

Well, the next several episodes to be re-reviewed are going to be tough to get through, many of them contain some of Season 8's worst missteps or otherwise blunders. But I gotta get through them. This episode marked the debut of yet another new writer in the form of Kim Beyer-Johnson, who among her previous writing credits wrote for Transformers: Rescue Bots, which aired on The Hub and

    Episode Re-Review: Horse Play

Season 8 finally had an episode that made use of its changes to the status quo with "Surf and/or Turf", which many said was FiM tackling the trickly subject of divorce (though I personally don't see it). However, the episode also felt at times like it was more of a belated commercial for the 2017 movie rather than an actual episode, and the School of Friendship itself was only sort of relevant to

    Episode Re-Review: Grannies Gone Wild

Well, Tell Your Tale finally decided to try to do something interesting, because the last episode showed Sunny's mom in a flashback. But they didn't even give her a name, let alone elaborate on what happened to her. And given the way Tell Your Tale progresses, I'm not expecting any follow-up anytime soon. Getting back to G4, Season 8 hit its first stumbling block only four episodes in, and the

Episode Re-Review: Fake It 'Til You Make It

Oh joy, it's back to Season 8. Season 9 has its fair share of detractors, but hardly anyone I know ever sings Season 8's praises, and for good reason. We now know that the School of Friendship was added at Hasbro's request because they wanted the show to wrap up with nine seasons, forcing the writers to change their plans for the pillars. About the only good thing to come out of Season 8 seems to

Top Ten Pegasi, Version 6.2 (The Best Gift Ever Version) · 4:22pm Nov 4th, 2018

With earth ponies updated it's now time for pegasi. There's not as much to talk about here, but there are a few updates worth including. You know the drill by now. Here's the previous version, from just after Season 8. Let's see who moved up and moved down (but before we do, let's look at some honorable mentions. They are: Stormy Flare, Fleetfoot, Soarin, Rumble, Dizzy Twister a.k.a Orange Swirl, Bulk Biceps, Thunderlane, and Night Glider).

10. Windy Whistles
Why she stayed on the bottom: Windy still has some things going for her, largely for those interested in the mane six's parents. She's definitely gotten a lot more attention in the fandom, particularly in the fan art community. Otherwise, there's not much to say about her.

9. Spitfire
Why she stayed the same: Spitfire's return in Season 8 was a welcome return to form after Season 7 only had her in one episode and her presence was barely even felt. Ultimately, I don't have anything new to say about her but I'm hopeful she'll return in Season 9. Also, I forgot to mention her being what I'm gonna assume was a gym coach in "A Matter of Principals", would be interesting to see how she and Starlight met.

8. Rolling Thunder
Why she stayed the same: Who doesn't loving an Aussie? It just seems to be one of those nationalities that are just fun to make fun of because of the accent alone. Ultimately, like with the others so far, there's nothing new to add here so she's staying the same. But trust me when I say it's not gonna be that way for long.

7. Fluttershy
Why she moved down: Fluttershy moved up last time around because she mostly just stayed quiet and didn't do much of anything for Season 8. And when Season 8 seemed intent on derailing characters whenever they were in the spotlight, not being in the spotlight was a blessing in disguise for Fluttershy. But when the spotlight shifted back to her in "The Best Gift Ever" her subplot just amounted to being pushed around by Spike and then Flim and Flam. Not the worst character regression ever, but at the same time it didn't really give her much to work with.

6. Daring Do a.k.a A. K. Yearling
Why she stayed the same: Some people still seem to be rather sore about the fact that Daring Do is real, even though a lot of fanfics toyed with the idea prior to Season 4 and "Daring Don't". Of course, like with all the others staying the same, there isn't much to talk about in regard to her. Everything I've said before is true, nothing has really changed. But it would be nice if her next appearance could see a return of Ahuizotl, Dr. Caballeron has become overused.

5. Flash Magnus
Why he stayed the same: It's nice to see that Flash Magnus appears to have had a positive impact on the royal guard and beefed them up in terms of provisions. His brief appearance in "A Rockhoof and a Hard Place" was just what he needed to break free of the label of being a male Rainbow Dash. But of course, he wasn't at all in "The Best Gift Ever" so for now he has to stay where he is.

4. Somnambula
Why she moved down: While I still like her, she has to move down to make room for someone who's going to move up. Like I said before, Somnambula really wasn't helped by what was seen of her in "A Rockhoof and a Hard Place", they glanced over a conflict she really should've had. I imagine she'd be quite torn up at the fact that she never got to say goodbye to Prince Hisan, and confused that the ponies of her village seem to worship her like a deity. Yeah, maybe all of this is a little much for the show, but if they were going to make a point about Rockhoof struggling to adapt to modern times they should've thought first about how pillars like Mistmane and Somnambula would adjust. Even if they still have their villages, it won't be exactly the way they remember it being.

3. Derpy Hooves a.k.a Ditzy Doo a.k.a Bubbles a.k.a Muffins
Why she moved way up: It's always a treat when Derpy gets a big appearance, I'm glad the show didn't get rid of her like they seemed to briefly toy with the idea of after the controversy over "The Last Roundup". Her appearance in "The Best Gift Ever" was another fine, upstanding one. She means well of course, she has a steady job and by all accounts the post office is a mess even without her. She in fact seems to the one who works the hardest to keep things in order. When a mistake occurs, it's an honest misunderstanding and she wants nothing more than to correct it. There's also the bit at the very end when she decides to take a break. As I'm pretty sure anyone working at the post office during a major holiday will tell you, it can pretty hectic dealing with all those last minute letters and packages, especially if the weather isn't cooperating.

2. Rainbow Dash
Why she stayed the same: "The Best Gift Ever" was a splendid performance for Rainbow Dash, she displayed saint like patience putting up with Discord's antics and even when she should've rightfully blown the whistle on him for his stunt to one up her as a friend, she decided to let it slide and be the bigger mare. I do find it odd she would be the kind of gift giver who waits until the last minute to do any kind of gift shopping, but I suppose it's one of those things that depends on how lazy she's feeling. Ultimately though, "Non-Compete Clause" holds her back. It's just a very harsh thing to overlook.

1. Scootaloo
Why she stayed the same: Scootaloo at the least got to make a cameo appearance in "The Best Gift Ever", she could be seen towing Sweetie Belle through town. I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a bit of a nod to her being cast as a Rudolph expy in the IDW Comics when they tackled various holiday specials, or if it was just a fun little background gag they decided to sneak in. Of course, if that was all she had going for her she wouldn't be number one. Her presence throughout Season 8, particularly in "The Washouts" is what keeps her on the top. Seeing her step out of Rainbow Dash's shadow and finally come to terms with her disability are two things I don't think anyone would've imagined happening to her even back in Season 3 when she and Rainbow Dash became sisters.

And there you have it. Come back tomorrow, when we'll update the Top Ten Unicorns list.
