Project: Stardust print Indiegogo campaign reaches it's target, wraps up soon! (Plus some hopeful news on Nightmare) · 8:19pm Oct 26th, 2018

Afternoon folks! The indiegogo campaign concludes soon for the Stardust print and it's reached it's target! If you've been procrastinating (like me) then now's the time to pledge before it's too late!

The link in case anyone missed it.

With the big news out of the way, I wanted to talk a little about Nightmare. Some folks commented about it during my last few blogs. Since then I've reread what I had written for Nightmare, as well as Celestia, before finally reviewing everything I had planned originally for the story. The whole process has given me... ideas. I don't know where it will go. I want to say 'oh I'm inspired and I'll crank out a chapter in a week!' but inspiration and my creative muse has not been reliable. All of you are very aware of that I imagine. If I am simultaneously struck with both inspiration AND the free time I need to write when it hits, I am certain you all will be the first to know.

Until then, thanks for everything you guys do!

For a while it wasnt looking good and was afraid that the goal wasnt gonna get met but there was a big influx of backers near the end there as well as some legends that threw extra money in there to make sure it would succeed.

Im very excited to be getting one of my favorite fics in proper book form

Kind of funny
I had a plan, for over 2 years, to make my own print of Stardust, for personal use only mind you, and send a copy to Arad as a thank you for this great fic.

Now he fixes his own print for everyone, That should teach me to not procrastinate so much :P
Of course I backed this as soon as I saw this post =D

You don't take Paypal? RIP me.

Wonderful! I look forward to my unnecessarily huge book!

I didn't even notice you were working on a story called Celestia let alone Nightmare. I guess that explains why Mental Materia went dark for so long, you got inspiration for something else.

If it was still up for 2 more weeks I wouldve been able to get in on this

TwT

I wish I knew about this earlier...

Congratulations.

I see there 117% of goal, so it mean that projeckt success?

Added two extra days because of the sudden influx of people.

Yes, we've succeeded.

I really don't get why anyone would buy the first book in a series when all evidence points to the sequel never being finished, like getting a pair of shoes but only one was made and the other is just cut pieces of fabric and rubber.

Actually we can count the whole story is completed with Mente Materia 42th chapter where Tia wakes up. Like we know, both worlds are whole after that war and civilizations standing, exchange students etc. So it ends happy and we will imagine by ourself how exactly it happen. Like Tove Jansson suggested in her book "Trollwinter." Her next two books ("Moominpapa at sea" and "Moominvalley in November ") ends such way.

I hope Arad find motivation to end the story actually

Because Stardust is a wonderful story even completely independent of whether the entire overall story arc has been made whole. I have plenty of good books that were intended to be the first of a series, for which the follow-ups never materialized. It doesn't detract significantly from the value of having them or reading them. And I would not put Mente Materia in that category anyway, as it seems nearly complete, whether or not the overall story continues after.

Stardust is pretty self-contained. And regardless, Mente Materia has pretty much wrapped up at this point (rather unexpectedly, but then again, it's much better than going unfinished.) I just hope Arad eventually finds it in himself to give it the finishing touches it needs.

I missed it...

Any other opportunity to purchase a book sometime this year?

I just saw that there was going to be a physical copy! I'm also interested in a second run :D
