    Lordy, how time flies!

It has reached the real life date during which the beginning of MLP EG Forever takes place. It seems like not that long ago I started writing it, thinking this timeline was a long way off, yet here we are.

I gotta do this one on my lunch hour this week; I have things to do tonight so I won’t have time for this later—which is too bad cuz this is my favourite track on the album and I wish I had time to say more about it.

High Speed Dirt

I guess this one’s about a sky jumper whose parachute won’t open. I always thought it was about something slightly different (involving war), but Google searches don’t find anything like that, so we’ll go with the aforementioned parachute thing. Sounds good.

Anyway, amazing lyrics here—considering the topic at hand; a great set of riffs that give the listener the feeling of being in a free fall, and that little blues lick near the end? Awesome.

See you next week.

This one’s just a silly joy of a song, which is kind of impressive considering the subject matter. :rainbowlaugh:

I never really appreciated this song until I learned to play it on bass. Then I realized how fun and awesome it is!
I like how it swaps the verse and the chorus in terms of energy and flow. In most songs, the verse would start out low and build intensity, eventually leading into the chorus; but here, the verse is high-flying and light, and the chorus is actually a bit understated by comparison. It gives the song an unconventional pace/structure that I find enjoyable and refreshing.
