What're y'alls opinions on cross-story cameos?

I plan on having a few characters from previous stories cameo in the current set of active stories, as well as characters in said active stories appearing in other active stories.

Here's a list of characters I currently have in mind for cameos.

Lisa and Samantha - (Pony-Me)
Zoey/Gadget, Ranell, and/or Delmar - (Lab Horse series)
Rusty and Jewel - (Remnants of Glory, The Day the World Exploded)

Note that they will not play any major role in the stories they cameo in. They would simply exist as part of the background cast, or a chance encounter. For example, I have an idea for a possible scene in Pony-Me where Lisa/Samantha notices Gadget(Zoey) in her human form in the corner booth of a coffee shop, but doesn't really pay any mind to her.

I've already done shoutouts to other stories on Fimfiction before, I'm just asking opinions on crossing over characters from those stories.
