Well in my defence, your resolve really takes a hit after your 8000th encounter and I really want to continue with the game. I regrett nothing!

I named it BEELZEBUB, which most people know to mean "Lord of the Flies". However, the actual term comes from the hebrew bible "Ba‘al Zəbûb" where it's mentioned to be a god worshipped by the Philistines. It is still contested what the term actually means. While Ba‘al is roughtly equalent to the title "Lord" in Ugaritic, Zəbûb isn't fully understood.
Some think the translation is wrong, and that it instead is "Ba‘al Zəbûl" which means "Lord of the Divine Dwelling" and that it was used as an insult, whilst others think the current translation is correct and that the Philistines worshipped a cult of flies.
Either way it's a bitchass name. (Also, any relation to some obscure hentai game with 3 giants monsters with the same name is purely coincidental)

Shiny Venipede looks pretty dumb to be honest, but it evolved into Whirlipede and it looks awesome!!! its dark grey instead of lavender and has radioactive green rings instead of pink!

I actually managed to beat 2 gyms today without failing. Clay was almost a wash since that Excadrill was much faster than I imagined, but NAHASH pulled through.

I've seen some really cool looking pokemon, like Yamask, Solosis, Trubbish and Karrablast, but none of them are fit on my team. The might have, had there not been a slight problem. See I had 4 pokemon (including me starter) set for when I would play this game. One of them was Venipede and the other two I haven't encountered yet. The problem is that none of those pokemon is Water or Flying type which means no Surf or Fly. That's why I picked up Archen so my last team member have to be a Water type.
Too bad there's been a disturbingly lack of those pokemon...
But as soon as I saw Karrablast I recalled there being a cool Water type I might pick up if there's no one else I like... No points for guessing which one it is.

Half of my team has just entered level 30 so I'll wait with a team overview until next time.
