Ash vs. The End of the End

I feel the need to speak about how differently the key events of Season 9 would play out in the Order-naries 'verse, but at the same time I don't feel up to making a proper story out of it. I'm going to split the difference with this blog, outlining what would happen without giving too much detail.

    And the magic goes on...

What a way to end the series. From a story-crafting standpoint, I have some complaints about how the final two-parter got rolling, and the resolution isn't how I'd have handled it.
The overall execution, however, and especially the final final episode, were wonderful.

    Still can't help myself.

I promised I'd focus on Pumahara after I finished Storm-chased, and I honestly have tried to get the next chapter done, but my silly, silly brain just can't leave the Order-naries 'verse slot on my WIP list empty for very long.

    Storm-chased complete and changed

I put up the last chapter of Order-naries: Storm-chased a couple days ago. After looking at it, though, I found myself dissatisfied with the last couple paragraphs, so I've gone back and replaced them with a new, better-paced scene. One that I think works better for Ash and Rarity meeting the dust has mostly settled.

The geniuses who brought us Myst, and thus indirectly made Aitran possible, have announced their newest game project: Firmament.

An Aitran Revelation · 3:28am Oct 2nd, 2018

My torment is over. I have a functional copy of Myst 4 on my computer. I have played through it and confirmed two things:
1) The game's puzzles run on ideal logic with no need to rely on outside help to determine the solutions.
2) I must pony-fy it. There is no hesitation or dispute in my mind. Aitran 4 will happen.
It may take some time for it to come to fruition, because I need to dig into the game's lore a bit more and figure out what all needs to be altered to fit into the Aitran timeline while still being able to utilize the character arcs of Myst 4.

Oh my God, more Aitran!? :O AWESOMENESS! :D

Woo-hoo! :pinkiehappy:

Awesome.

Though did you get the game on Steam? I've been trying to play it ever since I got it from the kickstarter and it simply refuses to work.

Hm, thanks for letting us know. :)

YES! This is gonna be good! Though I now find myself with even more reason to finish Myst 2-4 myself (thanks for that Kickstarter heads-up BTW) so as to avoid puzzle spoilers. Don't worry, it's been long enough since my last reread of your fics to not be spoiled for those already out. Probably should just start yet another reread of the whole series actually, trailing a bit behind my ingame accomplishments.

I got it on Steam through the Kickstarter, and it didn't work for me until a few days ago.
Have you looked at the Steam store page? Apparently, some antivirus software doesn't like the Myst 4 .exe file. My game started working after I ran a virus scan on it to confirm it was not malicious.

Sounds like a plan, and happy to know that you helped with the Kickstarter as well

Hi there, I just found your Myst.. uhh. "Aitran" story, and started reading.
This is an interesting adaption, though I am unsure if I like the ponyfication. It kinda feels wrong to replace these iconic human characters with ponies.
Meh, I'm sure I'll get used to it.
But are you telling me you just started playing Myst 4?
I have played them all. Myst 4 is my favorite.
My favorite moment of it were a simple one - when I found the balcony from Myst 3, and activated the memory there.
Anyways, if you haven't finished Myst 4 yet, then I wish you good luck saving poor Yeesha.
And I really look forward to see how you describe the breathtaking prison worlds in your fic.

YES!! The Fourth installment of Aitran is most likely on the way! :yay:

With the re-releases and my pledge to the Kickstarter going through, I am looking forward to another story whilst I binge play the Myst games again.
