Beta Readers Wanted for Original Novel · 5:53pm Oct 1st, 2018
No he's not King Sombra
Okay, I've spent most of my writing time this year working on an original novel. A novel about melodramatic talking animals. If it has an audience, you guys are it. If anyone's down to beta read a 80K word original fantasy novel send me a PM. It's similar to the following pony stories:

Pitch under the cut:
title: Hidemarket
genre:
Dark, low-magic, talking animal fantasy.
Length:
83K words
Blurb:
Sheriff Erchiyara loves his adopted home town of Hidemarket -- not for what it is, but for what he dreams it could be. It could be a center of culture and commerce where the three races of Khangi -- the cunning wolf-like zahn, the fierce kirin-like yarazahn and the mighty rabbit-like laj -- live in peace. It is a wretched hive of scum and villany, torn by racial strife and threatened by a cannibalistic serial killer. Worse, a conquering warlord has set his sights on the strategically important city — he is trying to subvert the town with spies, traitors, and assassins. If that doesn’t work he won’t hesitate to take it by force. Can Erchiyara convince the people of Hidemarket to stand together? Or will they fall apart? Contains LGBT and straight romance/sensuality, swearing, and lots and lots of violence.
Link to First Chapter:
Linky. Prologue and first chapter; the prologue is short.
I took a bunch of different genre tropes I loved and mashed them together. Heroic fantasy, black powder firearms, brutal street fights, crime novel tropes, western tropes, war story tropes, an evil overlord, and most importantly *talking animals*. It’s action-packed, it’s character driven, and… if nothing else it’s very, very original. I guarantee you won’t have read anything like it. Unless you’ve read The Builders. Yeah, think a longer, more complex version of The Builders. Other comps include Watership Down, the War with No Name series, and the Temeraire series.
I'm happy to trade pony-story betas of similar length.
That sounds really awesome. @_@
Certainly sounds interesting.
Though the way i read and free time i have 80k would take me several days probably. Plus im generally easy to please when i like a premise so eh.

Thank you! I like it a lot. It makes me cry.
I'd say I'm biased, but I'm actually ruthlessly self-critical.
