A good story displays a moral, the best ones attach you to the characters who display them.

Background shamelessly stolen from an actual SoT book
I'd recommend giving that one a read!

    Featured?!

Y'know for a moment there I was scared I'd lost my touch when it came to writing after I took those years on hiatus... this is a really encouraging sign.

Thank you all so much for showing me I've still got it! It's reassuring, and more than a little flattering. Don't think I've really processed it yet, since I basically just woke up.

    Good to be Back

I won't promise that I'll be able to return to my old projects immediately, or even at all. But I did mean it when I said I was coming back! I've spent too long not doing anything about my passion for writing, and that needs to change. :twilightblush:

Creatures of that size never arrived to civilization unannounced, nor did they attempt to avoid ponies. If her memory served as well as she knew it to, they wouldn’t even try to avoid an entire town’s worth. But this one was alone with her in the woods, and it flew? Skilled as she was, her weapons held no hope against it. Surely it should have known her defencelessness, and by the distance it was there was no chance in Hell it wasn’t completely aware of her presence.

This brought on a curiosity that she almost couldn’t fight, but there was something else. She couldn’t place exactly why, but she felt herself drawn towards the deep of the Darkwood. Where the more superstitious of ponies would suspect this to be some sort of black enchantment and stuff it down with all heart, she followed the call with little hesitation. Something about it felt far too familiar to ignore.
