Whatever happened to Grubber after the events of the MLP Movie?
I am aware of course that there’s a book about him called “The Great Princess Caper”, but...I don’t consider it officially canon because it seemed to lack the magic that made the MLP fan base, particularly because of the way the story played out, and because everything seemed to be too short & obvious.
He seemed to have also just...disappeared after the last scene he was featured in.
I'm pretty sure he was arrested after Storm King's defeat. Grubber, in my opinion, is an annoying character.
He's like the pigs from the Angry Birds movie mixed with Crap the Sonic Hedgehog. I'm gonna say he got blown away in the big tornado or he got killed to death. Celaeno might've killed him.

I definitely know the feeling.
Out of all the characters, he seemed to have the least bit of development & necessity. Michael Pena’s performance was great and funny of course, and at least the character wasn’t completely one-dimensional.
Maybe he just ran away or went along with Tempest.
So...how exactly is the book non-cannon?
Was it not written by the creators it are you just taking things you like and ignoring things you don't like?
...
And no. This is not a metaphor for religion. I'm asking an honest question.

A lot of times, I often don’t count some books and comics canon unless the show mentions some certain things about them. And yes, there are some things I don’t consider canon because of my dislike for them.

It's up to our interpretation, I guess. Last we see him he gets pulled into the cake, and when the pirates and Skystar jump out of the cake he can be seen looking bewildered for a few seconds where the cake used to be, and that's the last we see of him.
Maybe he ran off realizing the Storm Creatures were losing, maybe he got sucked into the tornado, or maybe (as many book adaptations seem to believe) he reformed, though he wasn't seen at the party in the movie.
If the next movie is G4 and not G5, I hope he doesn't revive the Storm King somehow. (But the staff only works with alicorn magic and that magic was returned to the princesses)

Besides, as far as we know nothing can revive the dead. Though Grogar may be reviving Sombra, he could just be summoning his spirit

True enough, but it's implied the staff wouldn't have been able to revive anyone turned to stone and smashed to pieces, hence why they had to save Tempest before turning her back. Plus they're sure to either destroy the staff or be guarding it, so Grubber probably won't be a threat. And if he hasn't reformed, Tempest has while the Storm King and his army are dead, so he probably either reformed or ran off.

To be honest, I don't really like grubber all of that much

Arrested? Sent to prison? Reformed? Helps Twilight and Tempest? I don't know; lots of fanfics will answer that question.
He was seen at the end credits. Maybe he was let off the hook.

This is crazy but, in my head I think he went back to the MCU and turned back to Luis to go on with his treadmill-mouthed hangout with his best pal Scotty and those wombats, Ant-Man and the Wasp.
