Lyra grasped her lyre firmly between her hooves, feeling the grain of the wood as she ran her hoof down the instrument. Her soon-to-be crowd sat before her, some at tables, some on barstools. None of them were paying attention, every single one of them being too focused on their own conversations, or drinks.
After having travelled for miles on hoof that day, Lyra wanted nothing more than to throw herself onto the nearest bed and sleep the night away, but fate wouldn’t let her. Life wasn’t that easy, for a travelling bard. She would have to stay up for hours to come, playing for a crowd that hadn’t even asked for her music. Not that any of them ever minded. No matter what town she played in, nopony ever complained about her music, not once.
As luck would have it, the town’s inn was completely full. Forced to find another place to stay the night, Lyra headed straight for the pub. She hadn’t ever liked playing in pubs, but they were the next best thing to inns. Usually, owner would have a room for her to stay in. If not, the pub was the place to be to get the word around town. One way or another, the place always managed to get Lyra a place to sleep, regardless of which town she tried.
Screwing around with story flow again. I don't want to create more rewriting work for When Harmony Reigns, and a complete lack of response to my previous blog post has left me unsure of the progress so far. Written in text below the picture (if the picture loads, that is) because it wasn't displaying the picture for me. Don't know why.
This is a concept I've been meaning to write for some time now, and one many people seem to like or at least agree with. I was kind of tired of seeing nothing but human-related fiction and art about Lyra (apologies if you actually like this headcanon, for some reason) and decided to finally make something of this idea. We'll see what this turns into, and if it ever gets posted. As it is now, it most likely won't. If you're wondering why it won't get posted, just take a gander at the clock on my desktop.
Just letting you all know what's up. Now, back to chemistry.
