As most of you who follow me know I have pretty exacting standards for stories. I strongly favor long fics and it's often hard to find truly great ones. My definition of that is one that, over it's length, never ceases to be engaging, intriguing, and original. I try to hold myself to this standard and though I suspect I often fail my hope is that striving for that high goal improves my art.
With that diatribe over with I'd like to point out a gorgeous work of fiction on this site named Bulletproof Heart. A work that manages to evoke both fics like Fallout: Equestria with its grit, realism, and relatable protagonist, and Trigun with its gorgeously rendered and developed western apocalyptica aesthetic, the fact that it has less than 90 likes seems a shame.
If you haven't read this story, please do.
I wholeheartedly agree!
I'm in the process of reading it and, if the quality up the the point I've gotten continues through, I do expect to be upvoting (and Favouriting) it when I catch up. :)
Not sure when that'll be, though. I mean, among other things, today someone posted over fifteen thousand words of another story I've been enjoying, and of course that took a bit of time. :D
It is, without doubt, one of my favorite stories.
