September 4 Q&A · 4:28pm Sep 4th, 2018

Today marks my brother's birthday today. And since it's also my day off from school and work, I'm opening up this Q&A for any questions you might have.

Though I can already answer a few questions some of you already have asked in other Q&A's.

Base Anonymous asked

what story are you the most proud of? Or which one you feel the most passionate about?

Hmmm.... I guess if it was multiple choice question, my opinion would be either one of the "Land Before Time" crossovers or my comeback story "In Search of Sunset: The Mysterious Island." The first choice because I contributed more to what little was there on this website. And the latter, because I worked with what I know and what I know, are ponies and kaiju. And so far it worked wonders.

HB_DS2013 asked

What made you like Sunset Shimmer?

Perhaps because she has one of the best character arcs in the whole franchise (and whole isn't saying a lot, as Generation 4 is the only one that actually cares about character development). Plus as mentioned before she is pretty easy to write.

Leoshi Asked

Opinions of season seven as it is so far?

More or less a mixed bag, but better than season 6. "The Perfect Pear" remains my favorite episode.

Any other shows you're following?

Well, there's The Lion Guard, TMNT, and Ducktales.

How do you best approach criticism?

Make sure you're relaxed (I personally approach criticism with some deep, cleansing breaths); it'll better help you understand the problem and how to fix it. At the same time, some "critics" might just sound more like they're stuck up.

What character do you find is easiest to write? Whether it's for their perspective, mannerisms, actions, or anything that's particularly engaging.

Canonwise, I find Applejack and Sunset the easiest to write. The former because I find her to be the kind of person I could relate to, being a hard working individual myself who is often given advice in when in bad times. As for Sunset, since there's not much regarding her backstory (though it is slowly coming to light in the media), it gives me a lot of freedom.

Do you write in any other capacity, or are you purely a fanfiction author for now?

Before I wrote the stories, I wrote a series of Story Bibles for a prospective TV Series under the title "The Land of Magic." As it will take a while for me to be at a stage to do so, I brought some of the characters such as Cosgrove and Dapplewood as OC's. While the stories on average are well received than not, perhaps one day I can use them as the story itself (akin to how "Fifty Shades of Gray" began, though suited to an audience of either Gargoyles, Ninja Turtles, or Avatar: The Air Bender).

Do your skills and interests take any other forms? For example, many authors are also proficient in making their own story cover art.

As an animation major, my current skills and interests is a Jack of all trades. My drawing style involves a series of short lines, giving them a rather fuzzy appearance (I hope to refine it to a point like that of the Woolly Reitherman/Don Bluth style drawing), and have knowledge on composition. I have knowledge and reference textbooks for animation and 3D modeling, some recent animations you can find on Deviantart.

And finally...as a newcomer to your work, where would you recommend someone like me to start? One of your more recent stories, or back toward the beginning?

Start at "The New Timeline" up to the chapter "One Shall Rise."

Then in order Rise of the Maximals, The Equestria Girls Redux, Advent of Godzilla, The Return of Tambelon, Dawn of the Dinosaur, Camping is Just Dazzling onward to the first Chapter of "Equestria Girls: The Rubicon" then jump over to "The New Timeline" chapter "Revelations" then the rest of the "The Rubicon" then the rest of "The New Timeline" followed by "Vacant Niches" and "Together Again."

Has your SD card run out (it's a joke you won't get unless you're a speedcuber :rainbowlaugh:)?

Nope

The Real Mister Pokemon Asked

About your art, do you take requests? Just curious.

I do from time to time; if I'm just exhausted I would let them know. I currently haven't established a pricing range, but I would recommend a shout out.

Bad Dragon Asked

What percentage of your life's work did you already produce? How much more in % will you produce before you die?

Maybe around 10% of what I plan to produce as of now, probably going to be around 70%, give or take. I hope to live until I'm one hundred, who knows.

HB_DS2013 Asked

Is there a minimum follower count for Q&A's?

Oh no, it's a free-for-everyone Q&A. Follower count doesn't matter to me.

Try to keep it appropriate.
