    Funeral is done

OK everyone, we made it back home from the funeral and everything's done.
For those of you wondering, yes, I am okay.

But as the saying goes, when it rains it pours.
My mother passed out right before we left.
She was fine, at least initially.

Announcement · 3:38am Aug 22nd, 2018

Greetings Rider fans! I would like to tell you all that starting Friday August 31, I will be taking a week long - a much deserved - vacation.

Where to you might ask?

Well, I'll give you a hint.

Still don't know?

Okay, another hint.

That's right, starting next Friday I will be spending a week in the wonderful world of Disney! I'll be heading out to Florida just be a kid, in an adult body, but I'm a kid at heart.

Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that before I disappear and you don't hear back from me, just know I'm not dead.

But fret not, as I will leave you all with two chapters of Unicorn to enjoy. Now I can't say much, but, maybe this image will give you an idea.

Get hyped.

Sunset gets to meet the rest of the Heisei P2 cast?? WOO! Can't wait to read that awesomeness!

But for the meantime, have fun at DidnyWorl! :yay:

4923741 Not exactly, think about what the picture shows. What do each of the Kamen Riders in this picture have in common?

Also, thanks! :pinkiehappy:

4923769
What they have in common???
The only thing I can think of is...
Are you shitting me???

I think I know what you are teasing... but I don’t want to ruin the surprise for those who can’t figure it out...

All I will say is... I hope she doesn’t get “it” in the same way that Gentarou and Shinosuke did... Not saying it wouldn’t be a bad way to get “it”; but it would break Twilight’s heart if it happened that way...

You're going to Africa? :pinkiecrazy:

4923783
OOOOHHHHHHH. That's also something to be hyped for. :pinkiehappy:

4923769
Huh? What do you mean? Uh...they're all main Riders, they're all Heisei P2 characters, they...well, most are in their final forms. OOO's is very debatable. Because PuToTyra is given the "Final Form" treatment in the show, but it was specifically created as a counter to the majority of the O Medals. Then TaJaDor is arguably the most powerful of the standard sets, if you take the Medal Tree into consideration. But you also have Super TaToBa, which is more on-theme with early Final Forms being "evolved" versions of the base form. It's a huge grey area.

Have fun you lucky jack ass!

You’re one lucky bastard.

4923801
I agree with you about OOO’s and which of his forms can be called Super/Final forms. Though I don’t really agree with adding Super TaToBa to that discussion since it was only used in two movies (Mega Max and Ultimatum) and in episode 53 of KR Wizard by a copy of OOO, not Eiji himself.

Not dismissing how powerful Super TaToBa is (because it sure as hell is... especially with its time manipulating powers), but it’s what I call a Movie Exclusive form and not fully part of OOO’s lore. Any other time OOO’s need a lot of power, he always goes for TaJaDor since in the last episode of OOO’s I believe the PuToTyra medals were destroyed along with the others. Been a while since I watched OOO’s, so I’m not 100% certain of that...

4923841
If I remember the episode correctly, most of the Medals weren't completely destroyed. They got sucked into a wormhole with GilMaki and were scattered throughout the future (relative to the final episode of OOO). Most of the Purple Medals were destroyed, and I believe only one complete set remains. But other than that, most if not all of the original O Medals are still intact. Eiji just needs to find them all, and somehow repair Ahnk's medal. But given the future Kamen Riders Poseidon and Aqua come from, that shouldn't be too difficult.

And, taking them into consideration, that brings up some confusing questions about Zi-O's plot (that we know of so far), but that's for another post.

4923801

PuToTyra is his final form. It has unique properties that the other combos do not have. Not mixable, upgrades to his other forms with its weapon and is the strongest form against the Greeed. TaJaDor is just another combo with sentimental value to Eiji. And Super TaToBa is a form that is not part of the series original run, which ultimately disqualifies it as a final form. Still is canon to OOO.

4923841

and in episode 53 of KR Wizard by a copy of OOO, not Eiji himself

Nope, that is the real deal. The rings in the last two episodes of Wizard function a bit different than the Megamax rings. These rings summon the Rider and that is also mentioned in the episode. They just came because they heard that someone was in danger, not because the rings forced them to. And if they were just copies then Tsukasa wouldn't be Tsukasa.

4923915
One moment...
*after looking for the drive with the Wizard episodes*
Oh yeah... I forgot about that. I guess I don't remember it as well since out of all the summoned Riders, only Decade appeared in civilian form. But considering how the Heisei Riders are, they would 'push the boundaries of time and space' to reach any cry of help they hear.

4924236
Yeah, I might have a slight advantage here since I watched Wizard something like two months ago.

4923915
But, when you look at the in-lore details of PuToTyra, it was specifically designed to counter the other Greeed. It's not part of the original O Medal batch. Can we then still count it as a "Final Form" if it's not even the same power as the other forms?

4924314
I say yes because the purple O medals are still powered/controlled by desire... or rather a lack of them.

You see when Eiji, the first person to ever use the Purple O Medals, lacked any desire (which made him perfect for controlling the other O Medals without going berserk/insane unlike King OOO) he lost control of himself when using the Purple Medals.

Later on, when his desire (to save anyone in trouble/the world) started to reignite, he gained control of PuToTyra leading to his victory at the end of the series.

4924364
Ah! But there! You said it yourself: the Purple Set is powered through a lack of desire (an example being Maki's favorite targets, those with broken dreams), and thus are not powered though the same methods as the other sets. It's why they can't mix-n-match with the others in the first place. If there were any more "anti-desire" Medals, PuToTyra's components would likely be able to mix with them.
So, personally, I think TaJaDor and PuToTyra are on equal levels. TaJaDor is as strong as the Greeed Medals can get, and PuToTyra is hypothetically as strong as Anti-Greeed Medals could get.

And we need to decide which form fits best with the theme of the Final Forms; that being an evolution of the base form. And I think TaJaDor fits better than PuToTyra.

4924691
But it still comes down to the same thing. the medals are all powered by a form of desire. The purple ones are just powered by the desire to return to nothing. So, still the same power, just a different way of using it.

And the fact that Eiji has no desire besides helping others and saving the world, something that is basically something that does not benefit him besides that he keeps on living is very much reflected in PuToTyra. the medals don't desire something of their own.

And most important, every Final Form symbolizes something for the respective Rider: CycloneJokerXtreme symbolizes the perfect partnership between Shotaro and Philipe. Cosmic State is a sign of the friendships forged by Gentaro and Mugen is a symbol for Takerus growth beyond the legendary heroes through their lessons and his infinite potential. And when we look at PuToTyra and TaJaDor I think it becomes pretty obvious which one it is. TaJaDor symbolizes the friendship between Eiji and Ank, while PuToTyra is a perfect metaphor for Eiji's selflessness and the fact that he has to find his desire to save the world again. It means way more to Eiji's character ark, so in my opinion, it is the Final Form. It is more the final evolution of Eiji as a character than the powerset, but in that way, TaJaDor is also not really fitting since it is not the ultimate evolution of the powerset.

4925559
That's actually a really good argument, and I can't find anything to really argue other than the Purples' source of power. Looking it up on Kamen Rider Wiki:

As revealed by Maki, there is a sixth set of Core Medals: the Purple Cores, which were formed from the antithesis of desire and had the potential to shatter Core Medals with ease. Five of these Medals entered Eiji's body when they sensed his lack of desire, having a profound effect on him by allowing him to sense a Yummy and appearing on the OOO Driver on their whim, but they also entered Maki due to his wish for the end of the world. Fully willing to succumb to the Greeed growing inside him, the five cores turned Maki into the Kyoryu Greeed. When Maki took two of his own medals and gave them to Eiji, he himself became a Greeed, unable to resist seven cores. After the death of the Kyoryu Greeed, seven of the purple medals were shattered when they entered the event horizon of the black hole that was caused when OOO defeated the Kyoryu Greeed while the remaining three were sent with the other Core Medals that were sucked up by the black hole's pull.

In the sections I highlighted, we see that the Purples are formed by the antithesis of desire. But, we also see that the Medals entered Eiji and Maki for completely different reasons. Eiji is completely selfless, willing to sacrifice everything even for the sake of complete strangers. Maki, on the other hand, is mostly apathetic towards everything, but he does have an actual desire: the destruction, or "end", of the world.

With that, I looked up antonyms of "desire" to see if there's anything that could be used to interpret the exact meaning of "antithesis of desire". And...I can't help but say that it's inconclusive research. There's too much here that could fit. Hate and hatred could work, as the Purples send OOO into a blind rage. But then apathy could also work, as Maki's Yummy targets were always rather apathetic at the moment he struck. But another good choice is satisfaction, coolness, and peacefulness; which I'd definitely use to describe Eiji.

4925630
Don't quote me on this, it has been three to four months since I watched OOO, so my info might not be entirely correct. But I think it was said in the series that because the purple medals are based on extinct species that their desire is to return to nothingness, and they seek people that align with this as their vessel. That description fits Makki to a T and Eiji was a vessel because he had no desire of his own, aka his desire was nonexistent, a state that the medals want to return to. They then forced their will on Eiji since he lacked any form of desire and began to turn him into a Greeed. He only regained control when he regained his desire to save the world, a desire so lacking in desire for himself that he is still able to use the medals. At least that is how I understood it, I hope I explained it well enough.

4925630
Ok, I have something else on the opposite of desire thing:

I don't think the opposite of desire is a different thing, I think it is just the lack of desire. What is the opposite of desiring something? Desiring nothing. Desiring nothingness is just a different expression on that.

4925635
I guess that's as good of an interpretation as we can get without more clarification from official sources.

Just wanted to know, is there any chance of you eventually writing "Rage On & Compassion Be With You"?
