A Torn-Up Note

We were wrong about it all. The end is never the end and they showed us that.

Damn, how long has it been since I did one of these? It's been getting very busy around here as finals week is approaching. Stress is getting high and time is getting strained... Badly. I haven't played any video games for the past week and it's starting to show as my hands are starting to shake like their pressing sticks and buttons. (Not really.) Not only that, but I've left behind my

Disappearing... Vanishing... · 2:35am Aug 15th, 2018

The world burned at a slow pace. It was uncertain whether it was destroying life or rejuvenating it, but everywhere it goes, it left a path of destruction and remembrance. Unlike other flames that always burned at the physical matter on a planet, this fire only burned away the sins of a world, the many awful things it has suffered in the thousands of years it was alive... If it was even alive in the first place.

This world was not like other. It was synthetic, fake. It was not made by the gods that control the universe, nor was it governed by the rules that Reality has set upon. It was something that was created by another being... One wanting true perfection... Or a simulation of it. It was uncertain of why it wanted this or why it left the planet unfinished, but now the world is engulfed in a blue flame that threatens the very existence of this planet.

Or maybe this is what was always destined for it...

Ghost sat in a lonely little room, waiting for his unknown friend to wake up. Beside him was a cream colored unicorn with a cotton blue hair and mane that bore several pinkish stripes running down the brightly colored hairstyle. From what Ghost could tell about her, she was some sort of writer and has been living in this strange world for quite a long time. In fact, he believes that she was born here in this world and not thrown in like some of the other creatures he's run into. What a very strange place... First, Ghost had strange vibes of familiarity when he walked into the village carrying the pony that nearly got his face smashed in, not that he cared since he was quite used to it. Secondly, this entire village was filled with a strange assortment of creatures, animals, and even a few humans.

'Thought they would never get off their own homeworld...' Ghost thought when he first saw a group of humans.

But what made this place truly strangely was the enormous rift that hung over the village. A giant tear in the fabric of Reality, a massive doorway to other universes, over the heads of this abnormal village. Just the sight of it sent shivers down Ghost's spine. And the energy feelings... It caused his body to rial up and stand on end with how much electricity and interdimensional power that's washing over this village.

"How can you live with it?" He asked, sounding generally concerned. The pony looked at him with a curious face.
"Live with what?" She asked in a soft-spoken voice. Obviously a calm and collected pony at heart.
"The rift? How can you live with something that massive hanging above your heads? Threatening to drop lord knows what onto this ill-fated town?"
She shook her head. "We've grown used to it. It's been there for centuries, always dropping something new and terrifying on our heads. Last week, it dropped these creatures with sharp fangs and a nasty looking glare. We were downright terrified, but we know how to deal with these kinds of things. That's what Celestia has trained us for."
"Celestia trained you to be prepared for the worst? Hasn't she tried something to close it?"
She frowned, obviously distressed at the mentioning of that. "She... She did recently. When a strange artifact was dropped into the center of our village, the Princess of Friendship went to investigate with her friends and... They vanished..."
Ghost gave a look of interest. "Is disappearing ponies not a common thing here?" He questioned, getting a headshake from her.
"Not since they brought in their new trained guards. Most of the time it was because of some of the creatures that come through, so guards were introduced in order to keep the creatures in line. Most of them aren't hostile to us, but others are killed if they cause too much of a problem..."
"So what's so special about the disappearance of a group of friends?"
"They didn't disappear... They vanished..."
"What's the difference?"
"Disappearing means that there is an understandable cause of somepony's absence... Vanishing is when there isn't one..." She stated with a frown.
