    Eclipse 2024

Best of luck to everyone chasing the solar eclipse tomorrow. I hope the weather behaves. If you are close to the line of totality, it is definitely worth making the effort to get there. I blogged about how awesome it was back in 2017 (see: Pre-Eclipse Post, Post-Eclipse

    End of the Universe

I am working to finish Infinite Imponability Drive as soon as I can. Unfortunately the last two weeks have been so crazy that it’s been hard to set aside more than a few hours to do any writing…

    Imponable Update

Work on Infinite Imponability Drive continues. I aim to get another chapter up by next weekend. Thank you to everyone who left comments. Sorry I have not been very responsive. I got sidetracked for the last two weeks preparing a talk for the ATOM society on Particle Detectors for the LHC and Beyond, which took rather more of my time than I

    Imponable Interlude

Everything is beautiful now that we have our first rainbow of the season.

What is life? Is it nothing more than the endless search for a cutie mark? And what is a cutie mark but a constant reminder that we're all only one bugbear attack away from oblivion?

    Quantum Decoherence

    Happy end-of-2023 everyone.

I just posted a new story.

    EInfinite Imponability Drive
In an infinitely improbable set of events, Twilight Sparkle, Sunny Starscout, and other ponies of all generations meet at the Restaurant at the end of the Universe.

This is one of the craziest things that I have ever tried to write and is a consequence of me having rather more unstructured free time than usual for the last week.

Luna Eclipse · 4:46pm Jul 27th, 2018

A quick reminder to Luna fans on this side of the planet - look out for tonight's eclipse.

Looking out the window, the clouds just might clear enough to give me a quick view.

A solar eclipse is where Luna steps in front of Celestia.

A lunar eclipse, I suppose, is where Luna hides somewhere to get away from Celestia. We could write some nice stories about that!

Hmm, from what it looks like, Austria will have a better view of the eclipse than the UK. Still, the blood moon isn't visible in Austria? My local newspapers say it is, so I hope this picture up there is wrong.
I will go there tonight, with some snack, a nice drink and my Luna plushie; watching the moon, trying to take some pictures and listening to Luna-related music.
Only thing that could flunk that for me is that the weather doesn't look to be optimal at that time, forecast says it will be cloudy, so I hope that changes in the last minute.

DO IT.

Blood Moon in closest visible pass of Closest brightest Mars in decades? Now, wheres that ISS passing.

I went there, but I could not see anything. It was cloudy, as expected, and all I could see was something under a cloud that might or might not have been Mars, so I assume the moon was right behind that cloud, but I can't tell for sure.
Either way, I did not get to see the spectacle. :pinkiesad2: I stayed there for a while, but nothing. So, I just listened to a few Luna music pieces, chilled and ate and drank, then left when a thunderstorm drew closer.

No lunar view for me either. All was clouded out. A little frustrating as for the last week it has been clear skies, then just when we want a good view, the rain clouds arrive.

Working on it. But is Luna hiding from Celestia, or is Celestia hiding from Luna?

Same here. Today, it's hot again, cloudless sky, save for another thunderstorm with a little rain that lasted about ten minutes or so.

Working on it. But is Luna hiding from Celestia, or is Celestia hiding from Luna?

You are actually writing this now? Fantastic! :scootangel:

Oh... I forgot there is a lunar eclipse...:twilightoops:

Unfortunately, I am on the wrong side of the planet. Speaking about sides of planets, with the increase in flat-earthism, it is no surprise that I work with at least 1 flat-earther:

I work with a flat-earther.

He probably believes that the lunar eclipse should look like this:
