In which Discovery Family airs a new episode during the hiatus.
So this came out of nowhere. I wonder if airing episodes and specials out of the blue is going to be some kinds trend. Ah well.
Anyway, the episode was pretty simple. Pinkie Pie gets a new instrument called a Yovidaphone, a beloved instrument from Yakyakitstan and plays it non-stop. Unfortunately, she isn’t the best at playing it and it begins to bother friends (as in it’s literally a detriment to whatever they were doing) after Twilight suggests letting her continue. The girls then admit to Pinkie that her Yovidaphone playing isn’t all that great, and she falls under a depression.
The girls track her down to Yakyakistan after a series of failed attempts to bring back the happy Pinkie Pie they know. After a realization, they let Pinkie play on stage, where her happiness shines once more. A yak, who let Pinkie her use instrument, tells her that despite her playing not being the best, it brings happiness to those who enjoy using it.
It’s an average episode. A little basic, and the moral was just a tad forced. Hopefully, the girls told Pinkie not to play while they’re busy this time, because I’m sure Applejack doesn’t want to go farming applesauce before Saucin’ Season nor would Fluttershy want to pull another busy all-nighter. Honestly, if they just told her to not show up when they’re working or whatever and not critiqued her music, the whole conflict could’ve probably been avoided.
So yeah, a passable episode, not the best and not the worst this season. It’s sorta in the middle. Hopefully the show comes back from its hiatus with an even better episode.
Really? This aired? Wow. Might have to check it out soon.
