Friendship is Card Games: Epic (Noun) Time

Yeah, we’re dipping into the fandom archives for this one. Literally, given that the Alligator Tub Productions YouTube channel has renamed itself and wiped its content. But the Internet never forgets (except when it does) so let’s look at some classic fan animation and see how well it holds up.

Friendship is Card Games: Ponyville Mysteries: Schoolhouse of Secrets

This is an interesting situation. I begin my look at the Ponyville Mysteries novel series, which predates the Ponyville Mysteries comics I reviewed back in… 2019, my goodness.

Well, let’s get this started before my bones turn to dust.

    Egregious Automaton: Retract

Ahem. So. Upon further investigation, it is possible that the primary source for the "AI voices" brouhaha may, in fact, have been full of crap. Or at the very least, does not work at Hasbro.

You may have already heard about this from Equestria Daily or elsewhere in your personal bit of the Webbernets, but the reason behind the abrupt end of Make Your Mark has come to light.

Midnight Realization · 1:51am Jul 19th, 2018

First, a bit of background: The Seer's Parables are set on the plane of Shadowmoor, which is basically a universe of especially grim fairy tales. Lorwyn is the sanitized Disney version. Shadowmoor is the one where even the good little boys and girls get eaten; it just happens to them slightly later.

In any case, I was rereading them just a bit ago when I was struck by something familiar:

Her wings,
Shimmering black,
Cast shadows across my eyes.
Her gown
Danced like leaves
Awash with wind.
Her haughty gaze
Struck me to my knees.
"Long have I waited
To impart my gifts
To one so curious,
So worthy."

Hmm...

Of course, given how this is a world where the night literally lasts forever, perhaps the more appropriate connection is to Nightmare Moon, but she's already doing work as the queen of the fae. Besides, Midnight equating curiosity with worth seems more thematically appropriate.
