A moment to remember an actor

    W. Morgan Sheppard was an actor who appeared in many genre movies and TV series. Star Trek, Doctor Who, Babylon 5, even anime voice acting. However, the role I best remember him for was in the 1980's TV series Max Headroom, where he played Blank Reg. Reg was an aging punk rocker running a tiny pirate TV station from a caravan parked on the outskirts of the city. He was one of the best characters

Well, *that* month was hellish. Let's try not to do that again.

    Hi everyone,

I'm alive, the car is fixed, the mortgage paid, and bank account looking a bit more positive. Let's hope I don't have to go through quite so much stress for the next few months at least. Which brings us back to the question I'm sure is on the minds of my small cadre of loyal readers:

When the heck is the next chapter coming?

    What's the story, JD?

    Hi everyone,

So, you're probably wondering what's taking so damn long with the next chapter. Well, to put it simply, life happened. I ran into a money crunch combined with a bunch of new expenses. I've actually taken to driving a ride share to earn extra cash, and it was working out really well...till the AC compressor in my car blew.

    Yes, I'm still alive.

    Hi everyone.

I know you all haven't heard from me in a bit, but rest assured that I haven't dropped off the face of the Earth. I just had a whole bunch of grownup problems hit in the last couple of months and it's left me no time to do any writing.

Just hang on a bit longer. Once I get through chapter 8, it'll get a lot easier for me in terms of moving the story along.

What's the story, JD? · 12:24am Jun 29th, 2018

For those who don't know, when the compressor goes, it usually leaves behind a ton of tiny metal bits in the AC system. It's debris that can't be flushed away, and so you need to pretty much replace the entire system, which is a large repair bill (around $900 USD). Needless to say, that only added to my troubles. So, basically, I've just been working my butt off to get my head above water. This has left me with no real time or inclination to work on chapter 8 of Rebuilding.

"But JD," I hear you saying. "Didn't you tell us that you had the chapter all outlined and ready to write?" Well, yes and no. Yes, I have the broad strokes of the chapter all outlined, but this chapter... It's kind of the climax of this part of the story. And so it's just taking me even longer than usual to get it straight in my head, because there's a bunch of things in it that I have to pull off just right.

So, I'm kind of in this tough spot where I need to be creatively adept while also working from sun up till late at night to get my finances in order. Something had to give, and I've afraid it's the story. It's not on hiatus and certainly not canceled, but just kind of delayed. All I can do is ask for your patience till I get it done. I have a feeling it's going to be another monster chapter, like chapter 7. Maybe even longer.

Anyway, just hang on. Until then, I'll leave you with this cute picture I found from an artist who's surprisingly on my wavelength in imagining Trixie/Lulamoon as being a lot smaller than Starlight. Were Starlight just a bit shorter and in her filly form, this would almost perfectly match my image of little Lulamoon.
