My writer's block is slowly becoming undone. It is helping me cope with the stress of the post-flood and the move to a new apartment I do believe.
Here is an excerpt of the first scene.
Heart of the Mernerd
It was her mane.
It was Twilight’s mane that captured most of Rarity’s gaze hook, line and sinker. Bright pink alongside the gradual varying light and darker shades of purple and blue were an extremely fetching color combination on their own.
It reminded her of the mermare’s namesake.
Colors were just the beginning! The length of her mane was impressive to say the least. Falling well past Twilight’s midriff which would have been cumbersome for most ponies. How Twilight pulled it off was the pure fact that the mermare’s torso ended in a large, powerful fish-like tail that was the majority of Twilight’s nigh ten-foot stature. Her mane was just the perfect length.
Rarity did have to admit that it was overkill the way droplets of water that hung and glistened in the mermare’s strands of hair like diamonds in the sunlight whenever her enchanting form broke the surface of the water. That Twilight wasn’t purposefully trying to do so made it extremely forgivable in her own eyes.
The only matter that was unforgivable was the fact that Twilight seemed to take absolutely no steps or precaution to keep her own mane straight. The number of tangled knots Rarity could see made her face twitch. She had vowed to Celestia as her witness that she would rectify this oversight. The absolutely only possible course of action that she was able to perceive to this alarming dilemma had been to reach both of her hands into Twilight’s gorgeous mane and fix it herself.
Twilight smelled like the fresh morning tide.
“Coooome on! I didn’t come down here to watch you braid her mane all afternoon,” Rainbow Dash groaned and rolled over on the small cloud that hovered above the dock she had been laying on for a good twenty minutes, “I wanted to race Twilight along the beach!”
