IN WHICH I MAKE MY CHOICE
So a few people finally gave me feedback on my last post. But first, Paint.
Wasn't expecting the last line, but I won't complain (cheap shot though it is). Anyway...
My dislike of the current American president should come as no surprise to any of my readers considering I killed him off two years ago in the Burritoverse in the most humiliating way I could think of, and have mentioned him in multiple stories -- dead in EQG but alive and Celestia's prime minister in Equestria. He is the reason Celestia keeps getting drunk and banning grammar.
Speaking of the Burritoverse, I wrote the outline of a new story that I didn't think would happen but decided to try because I think it might be nice to do some more character building. Sonata Dusk Makes A Burrito, the story about how she gets her job at the Burrito Barn. Those who have read all of the Burrito stories know that the most recent chronological ones have Sonata (unnamed) as a server. Readers have pointed it out and wished her well in her new job, but also asked me when it happened. I said it was authorial fiat, which it was. But I figured why not go into detail. After all, I put Adagio into a second Burrito story -- and boy will THAT have consequences down the line -- so I guess Sonata will be featured in three.
I've been looking up tutorials on "How To Speak Like A Chav" so that I can continue Octavia's burrito story. She's not going to speak like a Chav -- Catfood McFly's hilarious characterization of her aside -- but his comics did influence me to make another character use that dialect. No, it won't be Vinyl Scratch; she does not speak in my works. Ever.
However, I'm wondering if I should go into her head in Octavia's story as well. I want to, but it might be funnier if we don't know what Vinyl's thinking.
So... I think I figured out the order I'm going to present my future stories to you. Burritoverse fics are weird in that I can never say just how long they'll take to write. They just... happen. Here's my tentative schedule for you. Keep in mind it IS subject to change.
- Recovery (to finish off SRA's main storyline)
- Burritoverse story (probably Sonata's 2nd one)
- SRA side-story 3
- Historical Adventure Fic (because it's already 99% completed)
- Burritoverse story (Octavia's)
- SRA side-story 4 (the last one)
- Final Burritoverse story (Sunset + Sonata)
- Anon-A-Fix
While many who commented said I should just get SRA over and done with already, my prereader made a good argument for staggering releases. The SRA side-stories are basically completed, as are Recovery and Anon-A-Fix. The Burritoverse stories still need to be written, so that's what I'll be working on when I'm not tweaking the others to make them less suck.
I hope you'll bear with me as I slowly but surely get all of these stories off my plate and into your eyeballs. This summer looks to be busy for me writing-wise. That's fine because the Ozarks in the Summer isn't much better than the rest of the South, so I'm less inclined to leave home and go to the park, though I know I ought to get some exercise in lest I become even more of a disgusting blob than I am now. Though losing some of the weight I've gained over the last few months would probably only make me feel worse about my total inability to get another girlfriend. Well, at least I can distract myself through writing.
