A theory to infinity. (Philosophy) (Theory) · 1:19am Jun 13th, 2018
From how infinity was described to me as a child, I was told it was like an endless line of string that neither had a beginning nor an end. Although there are two obvious issues with that description, the first being that it never started, and the second assuming that the action we perceive as infinite has enough momentum or energy to sustain itself indefinitely.
So first off I will propose a new theory, that infinity, instead of not having a beginning or an end, has an end that creates its beginning. Or in better terms, that its original spark for its existence, is also the cause for its fire to burn out. Now I cannot attest to the first spark for the fire of the infinity, but I can suggest that it would be more logical to say that the beginning and the end are one in the same.
Now for the second proposition, I believe that in following the theory above, and how we currently understand energy. (That it can neither be created nor destroyed. Only converted.) I propose that when infinity "Ends" it is merely changing the means in which it intakes new energy. For if we think about it like an ever-evolving "engine". So we'll create a small equation for it.
Energy A - intake^time= Energy B.
From this, we can assume that when it uses Energy A to propel itself, over time it converts Energy A into Energy B, and when Energy A has been depleted, the "engine" will start to burn through Energy B. Changing the Equation to.
Energy B - intake^time = Energy C.
So if we assume that the "engine" "sparks" every time the universe changes equations, we could also assume that some energies are more efficient than other's, causing the "engine" to "spark" more often, or less. Or in other words, Energy B could be more fuel efficient than Energy A and thus it'll change the value of "intake."
In any case everypony. This is my theory to the how and why infinity exists. Feel free to talk about it in the comment sections and absolutely destroy this theory. Funny enough this was caused by me hearing a speech on whether or not animals are sapient from a classmate at my college, which led to an idea on how to visualize infinity with mirrors, and then well... why infinity exists in the first place and how it maintains itself. Which led to this blog post.
I hope you all enjoy the brain food.
