IN WHICH I ACCOMPLISHED MORE THINGS

THE REAL LIFE:
On Wednesday, I had a meeting with a salesman from a company based here in my home state that does siding and windows. My intention was just to get an estimate... but when I examined the product and then got the estimate, I felt like I needed to sign that contract, as my mother and I both agreed I would not be able to get that level of quality for that price and a good warranty anywhere else. My current siding is cheap crap slapped on over the original wood by a previous owner that's needed to be replaced for years. My windows are almost all original (that is, 70yrs old) and wood; many are painted shut. The storm windows are from the 90's. It's time for a facelift.
While inspecting the outside, I discovered my home's original colour from the late 40s via a piece of painted wood uncovered during the rewiring -- it was white. However, the colour of siding I chose is called "Oxford Blue", which is a sort of a greyish bluish thing. The current siding is sort of sandy creme, so this will be a big change. But I think the darker colour contrasting with the white of the windows and new white storm door (which was included in the cost tally, nice) and white trim & gutters (that will simply be taken down and put back up after the job is completed) will look nice. Perhaps I should take before-and-after photos. Would any of y'all be interested?
That was then. This afternoon, I've mostly been too depressed to do much of anything, although I did get to talk to the cute bank teller who knows my name before buying me and my mother some lunch at the Sonic next door to the bank.
THE FANTASY
I just finished yet another Sunset Shimmer story, this one about our Sunnybuns going to a therapy session. Gdoc word count puts it at 1944 words. After editing it will probably be 2000 words. It's a confused mess and, in my opinion, absolute shit. Would someone like to give me some feedback on it before I post it?
Okay, I'll probably wait to post it until after SRA because, even though it's non-canon, it shares its continuity but takes place much later.
I went out of my way to make it impossible to tell which world Sunset is in in this story. I don't even know. Or care.
Speaking of SRA, I really really really want to get those last two stories up. I've built up quite a story backlog and it's starting to drive me nuts. I made some post-posting edits to The Rejected's first chapter. I think it's finally ready to go. I could literally make it public NOW. However, as it is late, I might wait until Monday if I don't wake up early enough on Friday. Or, I may wait until all four chapters are cleaned up. Which would you prefer?
Well, that's all the news from my little corner of the world. Hopefully I'll feel less blah tomorrow. Next blogpost will come whenever.
