My return and the changes it heralds · 1:35am May 29th, 2018
I am back!
For those who are a aware, that means I've written a full on original fiction story. I'm currently trying to publish it and you can expect to hear more details about that as the process goes on.
But it also means that I'm back to writing fanfiction! So good news!
Bad news is that the last two years have really changed my opinion on Pony. It is no longer the end all and main focus of my mind. In fact, I'm no longer following the actual show at all. For which I blame Starlight Glimmer ;P This does unfortunately mean that many new things will not be showing up in any of my writing simply because I don't know about them.
What this means is two fold. For those who are fans of other stuff and my writing, well good news! I am now writing fan fiction for other franchises as well, which can be found here: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/7493788/.
You can also expect my MLP stories to show up there. With one unfortunate exception.
I'm cancelling There's Something About Twilight Sparkle. The characters, particularly Trixie, have changed and developed from what I originally imagined. And quite frankly, I've grown to really dislike my concept of this story. So despite my reluctance to out and out give up on something, I'm giving up on it. In retrospect, I was already tired of it two years ago, and it was slowing my writing down as a result.
On the other hand (or hoof if you will), I do fully plan to finish Discord's Heir. And not just out of obligation. To make sure that I wouldn't fall into the same trap I did with There's Something About Twilight Sparkle, I reread it, and felt the old excitement about that story. So I've started writing it again, and it will be my main pony story until it finishes.
Will I write other Pony stories once I finish it? Perhaps. A few stories I had planned in the past have since been done by the show, Fluttershy's parents for example. Others have not. But as I've started writing for other franchises, Pony will be getting less attention. But I do still like MLP, and I do still have ideas for MLP fanfiction. So I imagine I'll eventually try writing them as well.

Sad to hear when any story is dropped, but it is what it is.
To br honest, I stopped following the show a long time ago. But I still telly enjoy the fics and the community, so I'm glad that you're back.
And congratulations on finishing your original story!!
I was rereading this story yesterday, thinking to myself, "damn, it's been a while". Then I saw a post with it tagged, and I was like "Damn! It's been a while!". Then I read the post and said "damn..."

Yes!!!! Oh Forum! You came back just when I was having a down moment! (I know that was not intentional, but still...) I'm so glad to see one of the writers of my original Extraordinary stories come back! I love Discord's Heir and I look forward to reading the new chapter!
Also, I'm right there with you on the show, I don't watch it at all anymore, and Starlight was and still is the defining, though not the only valid, reason why
I am glad you're story will not reinvent itself for what pale mockery of itself the show has become
